several chapters here 00:08.800 --> 00:11.480 leading up to about chapter 10 really deal 00:11.480 --> 00:14.960 with a lot of the animal sacrifices of the Old Testament. 00:15.540 --> 00:17.940 And of course Leviticus is named because 00:18.520 --> 00:20.140 of the fact that this is dealing with 00:20.140 --> 00:21.940 the Levitical priesthood for the most part. 00:22.180 --> 00:24.380 These are the instructions for the priesthood 00:24.940 --> 00:26.220 and what they're gonna be doing. 00:26.420 --> 00:28.040 And it's not arbitrary. 00:28.180 --> 00:29.620 Of course, when you read the Bible, 00:29.620 --> 00:31.420 especially maybe the first time 00:31.420 --> 00:33.300 or when you're young or when you're not even saved, 00:33.720 --> 00:34.880 you read the Old Testament law 00:34.880 --> 00:36.240 and it just seems confusing. 00:36.640 --> 00:37.980 There's a lot of animal sacrifices. 00:38.260 --> 00:39.480 They don't make very much sense. 00:39.720 --> 00:42.520 But when you become saved and you understand the gospel, 00:42.920 --> 00:45.180 you can actually see a different layer 00:45.180 --> 00:47.180 to a lot of the Levitical priesthood. 00:47.240 --> 00:48.540 And I wanna keep your finger here, 00:48.560 --> 00:50.840 but go to Psalm 119 in the middle of your Bible 00:50.840 --> 00:51.380 for a second. 00:51.920 --> 00:53.640 And I wanna show you just one verse 00:53.640 --> 00:55.380 that I wanted to pick out of Psalm 119, 00:55.540 --> 00:58.980 but the Bible tells us that it's a spiritual book. 00:58.980 --> 01:01.340 It's not just carnal instructions. 01:01.640 --> 01:02.780 It's not just history. 01:03.020 --> 01:04.460 There's a spiritual layer. 01:05.320 --> 01:06.460 And the Bible itself, 01:07.260 --> 01:08.740 everything is pointing to the gospel. 01:09.400 --> 01:11.520 Everything in creation is pointing to the gospel. 01:12.140 --> 01:14.220 Everything in the Bible, all the stories, 01:14.780 --> 01:16.580 all the examples are pointing to the gospel. 01:16.720 --> 01:17.900 And in fact, even the law 01:18.520 --> 01:20.220 is pointing to the gospel message. 01:20.460 --> 01:21.380 And in Psalm 119, 01:22.520 --> 01:24.720 I wanna look at verse 18. 01:25.280 --> 01:26.420 The Bible says, 01:27.120 --> 01:28.380 open thou mine eyes 01:29.040 --> 01:32.880 that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law. 01:33.360 --> 01:36.820 So this verse, I think what's interesting about it 01:36.820 --> 01:40.140 is it's kind of telling us that there's a second meaning 01:40.140 --> 01:43.820 or there's something that can be seen in the law 01:44.240 --> 01:47.420 that you wouldn't just get without God helping you. 01:47.560 --> 01:49.200 And it says open thou mine eyes. 01:49.260 --> 01:51.160 This is typically a reference to being saved. 01:51.320 --> 01:52.260 When you get saved, 01:52.260 --> 01:55.060 the Bible talks about your eyes being enlightened 01:55.520 --> 01:57.360 and you're getting a new understanding. 01:57.980 --> 01:59.360 Now you can see God. 02:00.040 --> 02:02.780 Of course, that's language that's used by Jesus Christ 02:02.780 --> 02:04.300 when talking with Nicodemus 02:04.300 --> 02:06.560 and talking about being able to see God. 02:06.820 --> 02:08.160 And of course, that's used 02:08.160 --> 02:09.720 in other parts of the gospel messages. 02:09.940 --> 02:11.300 And so when you become saved, 02:12.000 --> 02:13.940 you not only see the law for what it is, 02:14.500 --> 02:16.300 of course, it's perfect. 02:16.520 --> 02:20.900 It's what we should do as humans on this earth. 02:20.900 --> 02:22.460 We should abide by God's law, 02:22.580 --> 02:24.740 whether that be just his moral instruction, 02:25.380 --> 02:26.640 whether that be his civic duties, 02:27.100 --> 02:29.280 whether that be a criminal justice system, 02:29.820 --> 02:31.600 just national policy. 02:32.260 --> 02:34.280 Just all of those ideas are all great 02:34.660 --> 02:35.960 and there's nothing wrong with them. 02:36.020 --> 02:37.000 We can all understand them. 02:37.080 --> 02:38.960 In fact, an unsaved person can understand 02:39.280 --> 02:41.640 that just the carnal truths of the Bible, 02:42.060 --> 02:45.380 but beyond that, there's a spiritual layer 02:45.380 --> 02:46.380 and there's a spiritual layer 02:46.380 --> 02:48.960 to the sacrificial system in Leviticus. 02:48.960 --> 02:49.840 And when you read it, 02:50.280 --> 02:52.740 it's kind of just boring and dry, if you ask me. 02:53.020 --> 02:54.560 But when you kind of think about it 02:54.560 --> 02:55.800 from a gospel perspective, 02:56.380 --> 02:58.420 it becomes a little bit more engaging. 02:58.920 --> 03:00.220 And so that's what I want to do 03:00.220 --> 03:01.800 is I want to go back to Leviticus 03:01.800 --> 03:04.040 and we're hoping that God will help us 03:04.560 --> 03:07.600 open our eyes that we can behold wondrous things 03:08.220 --> 03:09.100 out of the law. 03:09.480 --> 03:11.480 And these wondrous things, I believe, 03:11.600 --> 03:13.580 are pertaining to Christ, the gospel 03:13.580 --> 03:15.860 and just the doctrine associated 03:15.860 --> 03:17.160 with the gospel specifically. 03:17.600 --> 03:21.360 Now here in Leviticus chapter one, verse one, 03:21.520 --> 03:21.700 he says, 03:21.840 --> 03:23.260 And the Lord called on the Moses and spake him 03:23.260 --> 03:24.860 out of the tabernacle of the congregation saying, 03:25.320 --> 03:26.440 Speak unto the children of Israel 03:26.440 --> 03:27.780 and say unto them, if any man of you 03:27.780 --> 03:29.500 bring an offering unto the Lord, 03:29.600 --> 03:31.780 ye shall bring your offering of the cattle, 03:32.160 --> 03:33.640 even of the herd and of the flock. 03:34.000 --> 03:36.860 If his offering be a burnt sacrifice of the herd, 03:37.160 --> 03:39.180 let him offer a male without blemish. 03:39.440 --> 03:42.000 He shall offer it of his own voluntary will 03:42.480 --> 03:44.240 at the door of the tabernacle 03:44.240 --> 03:45.940 of the congregation before the Lord. 03:45.940 --> 03:50.700 So you have, you know, in these chapters, divisions, 03:51.040 --> 03:53.200 you have in some senses a little bit 03:53.200 --> 03:56.780 of a different flavor of the different sacrifices. 03:57.240 --> 03:59.580 In chapter one, you kind of have a burnt offering. 03:59.700 --> 04:03.120 That's kind of the main focus of chapter number one 04:03.500 --> 04:04.960 is this burnt sacrifice. 04:05.660 --> 04:09.160 Now you also have in this particular section 04:09.160 --> 04:10.640 in verse three, notice it says 04:11.180 --> 04:13.140 that the person doing this offering 04:13.140 --> 04:16.200 is supposed to offer it of his own voluntary will. 04:17.060 --> 04:18.960 You know, God put the word voluntary there 04:18.960 --> 04:21.460 for the Calvinist to look that much more stupid, okay? 04:22.000 --> 04:24.680 Because it's just like, hey, you get to choose 04:24.680 --> 04:25.860 if you want to. 04:26.400 --> 04:27.740 Like how can you be a Calvinist 04:27.740 --> 04:30.100 and then understand this word voluntary will? 04:31.460 --> 04:34.020 That, you know, and that's what makes God special. 04:34.320 --> 04:37.200 What makes God special and unique from humans 04:37.200 --> 04:39.340 is how his will can be accomplished 04:39.340 --> 04:42.220 while still giving us an actual voluntary free will. 04:42.700 --> 04:45.460 The Bible tells us that we have a true, genuine free will 04:45.460 --> 04:47.240 and we can really do whatever we want. 04:47.600 --> 04:49.360 But while we have that autonomy, 04:49.920 --> 04:52.900 God can still accomplish his ultimate will 04:52.900 --> 04:55.100 and still accomplish the main objectives 04:55.100 --> 04:56.360 of the gospel message, 04:57.060 --> 04:59.560 even though we have our own faculties, 04:59.640 --> 05:00.700 we have our own abilities. 05:01.320 --> 05:03.500 You know, I typically relate that to sports or something. 05:04.120 --> 05:07.920 It's like, if you were just so good that it's like, 05:08.000 --> 05:11.140 I know that you have the ability to play against me 05:11.140 --> 05:13.100 but no matter how good you are, 05:13.120 --> 05:14.860 how much you try, you're gonna lose the game. 05:14.960 --> 05:16.000 Like I'm gonna beat you 05:16.000 --> 05:17.560 and not only am I gonna beat you, 05:17.620 --> 05:18.880 I know every move you're gonna make. 05:19.200 --> 05:20.980 Like when I go left, you're gonna go right 05:20.980 --> 05:22.720 and then I'm gonna score, I'm gonna dunk on you. 05:22.920 --> 05:24.960 And in fact, and sometimes people love to talk trash 05:24.960 --> 05:26.140 this way, they'll even say like, 05:26.240 --> the play beforehand 05:32.580 --> 05:33.980 or they tell you what's gonna happen beforehand 05:33.980 --> 05:35.100 and then they do it. 05:35.460 --> 05:36.740 That's much more impressive 05:37.220 --> 05:39.100 than if someone were to do that to a robot. 05:40.000 --> 05:41.920 If you just have a robot and say, hey, look, 05:42.080 --> 05:43.060 I'm gonna make this move 05:43.060 --> 05:45.020 and then the robot's gonna respond counter-wise. 05:45.340 --> 05:49.600 You think like, well, that's not as impressive 05:50.120 --> 05:51.980 as giving someone true free will 05:51.980 --> 05:54.180 and allowing them to make their own decisions 05:54.800 --> 05:58.120 and then still God's able to accomplish His will. 05:58.700 --> 06:00.580 But what is this really ultimately picture? 06:00.960 --> 06:03.040 Well, a couple of things that it pictures. 06:03.740 --> 06:06.700 Let's go to Matthew chapter number 12 for a moment. 06:06.700 --> 06:08.000 Go to Matthew chapter number 12. 06:09.540 --> 06:12.440 The Bible pretty much has almost every sacrifice 06:12.440 --> 06:14.600 as being a burnt sacrifice in some way. 06:15.220 --> 06:17.480 Now some are just entirely burnt. 06:17.600 --> 06:20.540 Like that's the only portion of the sacrifice. 06:21.120 --> 06:24.440 But I believe because the gospel is so complex 06:24.440 --> 06:25.760 and there's so much depth to it 06:25.760 --> 06:28.260 and because the gospel and what Christ did 06:28.260 --> 06:29.500 has so many layers 06:29.960 --> 06:31.560 that we have so many different sacrifices 06:31.560 --> 06:33.720 because we're picturing different layers of the gospel 06:33.720 --> 06:35.320 and different things that's being accomplished 06:35.320 --> 06:35.900 by Jesus Christ. 06:35.900 --> 06:39.080 It can't necessarily all be embodied by one example 06:39.080 --> 06:41.480 or just one metaphor or one symbol. 06:42.400 --> 06:46.020 And one of the aspects of the sacrifice of Christ 06:46.020 --> 06:49.980 which is not necessarily popular by many pastors 06:50.360 --> 06:52.960 but I think that just the general population 06:52.960 --> 06:53.860 has no problem with doctrine 06:53.860 --> 06:56.460 is the fact that Jesus Christ really went to hell. 06:58.520 --> 07:01.000 And it's kind of surprising to me now. 07:02.000 --> 07:04.640 I feel like our country has become so decristionized 07:04.640 --> 07:07.720 that many people don't even know the stories of the Bible. 07:08.440 --> 07:10.340 And one of the stories that I found 07:10.340 --> 07:12.440 was probably the most famous stories 07:12.440 --> 07:13.940 or a story that most people would always hear 07:13.940 --> 07:15.760 is Jonah and the whale. 07:16.460 --> 07:19.240 And yet I go knock on doors and I'm like, 07:19.380 --> 07:20.800 hey have you heard of Jonah and the whale? 07:20.960 --> 07:21.780 And they're just like, I have no idea 07:21.780 --> 07:22.400 what you're talking about. 07:22.760 --> 07:26.480 And it's kind of sad because it's a great story. 07:26.720 --> 07:27.380 It's very familiar. 07:27.940 --> 07:29.340 It's the one thing everybody remembers 07:29.340 --> 07:30.320 out of the minor prophets. 07:30.480 --> 07:31.680 You're like, I don't know anything in minor prophets 07:31.680 --> 07:32.700 but I remember Jonah and the whale. 07:33.440 --> 07:35.100 It's kind of a fun story. 07:36.020 --> 07:38.860 And yet Jesus references that about himself. 07:39.000 --> 07:40.980 Look what it says in verse 39. 07:41.160 --> 07:42.140 But he answered and said in them, 07:42.240 --> 07:43.880 an evil and adulterous generation 07:43.880 --> 07:45.620 seek it after a sign 07:46.110 --> 07:48.300 and there shall no sign be given to it 07:48.300 --> 07:50.260 but the sign of the prophet Jonas. 07:50.660 --> 07:52.460 For his Jonas was three days and three nights 07:52.460 --> 07:53.820 in the whale's belly. 07:54.280 --> 07:57.360 So shall the Son of man be three days and three nights 07:57.860 --> 07:58.920 in the heart of the earth. 07:59.260 --> 08:00.400 So according to the Bible, 08:01.300 --> 08:03.500 Jesus is comparing himself to Jonah 08:03.960 --> 08:07.940 and saying the picture of Jonah is really about me 08:08.600 --> 08:11.040 and how I'm gonna be in the heart of the earth 08:11.040 --> 08:12.640 three days and three nights. 08:13.400 --> 08:15.400 But most people if I ask them, hey, 08:15.420 --> 08:16.840 do you know where Jesus went after he died? 08:16.940 --> 08:17.420 They say heaven. 08:18.080 --> 08:20.280 A lot of people think that Jesus went immediately to heaven 08:20.280 --> 08:22.460 but the Bible teaches he first descended 08:22.460 --> 08:24.320 into the depths of the earth 08:24.320 --> 08:25.920 or as the Bible says right here 08:25.920 --> 08:26.980 into the heart of the earth 08:26.980 --> 08:29.380 that would be like the center of the earth. 08:29.380 --> 08:31.660 And so that's where we get a lot of doctrine. 08:31.760 --> 08:34.100 We understand hell itself is in the center of the earth 08:34.580 --> 08:37.680 and of course that's why so many of the sacrifices 08:37.680 --> 08:39.440 are talking about being a burnt offering 08:39.440 --> 08:41.300 and being roast with fire. 08:41.820 --> 08:44.860 It's because of this picture of Christ is gonna go 08:45.260 --> 08:47.200 and perform this sacrifice for us. 08:47.500 --> 08:49.220 Now let's get more details on this. 08:49.320 --> 08:51.080 Go to Jonah itself, go back a little bit 08:51.080 --> 08:53.440 and go to Jonah itself in the Old Testament. 08:54.820 --> 08:57.320 So we're beholding wonders, things out of the law 08:57.320 --> 08:59.380 and you know some people get upset about this doctrine 08:59.380 --> 09:00.220 but then you're like okay, 09:00.280 --> 09:01.860 well what does the burnt sacrifice mean? 09:02.360 --> 09:04.240 Because it's heavily emphasized. 09:04.700 --> 09:07.660 Burnt sacrifice or being roast with fire 09:07.660 --> 09:09.740 is not a minimum thing in the Bible. 09:09.840 --> 09:12.500 In fact it's reiterated over and over and over again 09:12.500 --> 09:15.980 and I would even argue that from an Old Testament picture 09:15.980 --> 09:17.520 and the foreshadowing of the Old Testament 09:17.520 --> 09:20.800 it's emphasized more than the cross itself would be. 09:21.120 --> 09:23.300 But that doesn't mean that the cross is less 09:23.300 --> 09:25.740 or not emphasized or not important 09:25.740 --> 09:27.440 and of course the New Testament seems to emphasize 09:27.440 --> 09:30.360 the cross more than Jesus going to hell 09:30.360 --> 09:34.180 but the Old Testament seems to picture the burnt sacrifice 09:34.180 --> 09:36.380 more than the pictures of the cross. 09:36.840 --> 09:39.740 And so we don't wanna sit here and just pick and choose 09:39.740 --> 09:42.160 and say well one matters and the other doesn't 09:42.160 --> 09:44.640 or this one's the only one that we should talk about. 09:44.800 --> 09:45.700 I think we should talk about both. 09:46.420 --> 09:48.480 And the Old Testament is still just as relevant 09:48.480 --> 09:50.920 to the gospel messages of the New Testament. 09:51.340 --> 09:53.320 The Bible says in Jonah chapter two it says 09:53.320 --> 09:55.120 is then Jonah prayed on the Lord his God 09:55.120 --> 09:57.740 out of the fish's belly and said I cried 09:57.740 --> 09:59.580 by reason of mind affliction unto the Lord 09:59.580 --> 10:02.240 and he heard me out of the belly of hell cried I 10:02.240 --> 10:03.640 and thou hurtest my voice. 10:03.740 --> 10:06.760 Notice when Jonah is describing what it was like 10:06.760 --> 10:11.560 to be in a whale's belly or the great fish's belly 10:11.990 --> 10:14.020 he describes it as the belly of hell. 10:14.320 --> 10:17.560 And again this is a metaphor for Jonah. 10:17.840 --> 10:20.020 Jonah wasn't literally in hell, we get that. 10:20.020 --> 10:22.980 Jonah is using this language to describe 10:22.980 --> 10:25.680 what it feels like, what he's experiencing. 10:26.280 --> 10:28.180 And in some ways if you think about it 10:28.180 --> 10:31.380 there's a lot of parallels because in the whale's belly 10:31.380 --> 10:34.260 there's no light, it's complete darkness. 10:34.760 --> 10:37.220 There's complete darkness, he's alone 10:37.930 --> 10:40.600 and the fish even is gonna be obviously 10:40.600 --> 10:43.200 submerged underneath the water. 10:43.580 --> 10:45.340 So it's kind of picturing being underneath, 10:45.340 --> 10:50.300 being in a prison, there's just complete darkness. 10:50.860 --> 10:54.640 So some aspects of this experience 10:54.640 --> 10:57.160 are gonna mimic those things in hell. 10:57.800 --> 11:01.020 I have no idea what it would have been like physically. 11:01.500 --> 11:02.800 It could have been warm. 11:03.300 --> 11:06.080 I mean in most cases the stomach is a warm place. 11:06.680 --> 11:09.000 You know it's considered a mammal, I don't know why 11:09.000 --> 11:11.820 but by scientific classification it's considered a mammal 11:12.340 --> 11:14.040 and so you know it could have been hot. 11:14.440 --> 11:16.660 It could have been very uncomfortable. 11:17.400 --> 11:19.280 There could have been, even potentially 11:19.280 --> 11:22.280 the acid in there could have been a burning sensation. 11:23.320 --> 11:25.160 I don't think he was dying necessarily 11:25.520 --> 11:27.620 but he's probably close to, probably felt like it. 11:27.920 --> 11:29.780 I can't even imagine, usually when you're in pain 11:29.780 --> 11:31.860 five minutes seems like five hours. 11:32.240 --> 11:33.540 I can't imagine three days. 11:34.220 --> 11:35.640 It might have felt like eternity. 11:36.840 --> 11:41.440 And in fact maybe from like other portions of scripture 11:41.440 --> 11:43.340 or maybe God gave him wisdom 11:43.340 --> 11:45.760 that he would know in three days he's gonna be getting out 11:45.760 --> 11:47.980 but when you don't know that you're getting out 11:47.980 --> 11:50.340 it's a really hopeless feeling. 11:51.880 --> 11:54.120 And you're kinda just wishing to die 11:54.860 --> 11:57.760 and by dying like in a sense of ceasing the pain. 11:58.220 --> 12:00.980 And that's again what's gonna be experienced in hell. 12:01.440 --> 12:04.160 People are gonna be in hell wishing to not exist anymore. 12:04.480 --> 12:06.180 Wishing for the pain to stop. 12:06.720 --> 12:08.480 Wondering when is it gonna be over? 12:08.840 --> 12:11.720 And the unfortunate part for them is it's never over. 12:12.480 --> 12:13.920 It's never gonna end. 12:14.080 --> 12:15.500 There's weeping and gnashing of teeth 12:16.020 --> 12:18.340 and of course it's even more excruciating 12:18.340 --> 12:22.140 because it's actual fire, it's actual burning. 12:22.740 --> 12:26.440 Yet in an incredible way while there's fire 12:26.440 --> 12:27.920 it's outer darkness in a sense. 12:28.260 --> 12:30.360 So I have no idea how any of that makes sense. 12:30.780 --> 12:31.900 It's a scary place. 12:32.420 --> 12:34.840 If you tried to dream up the worst punishment imaginable 12:34.840 --> 12:36.100 you will land at hell. 12:36.660 --> 12:38.960 In every category hell is the worst. 12:38.960 --> 12:41.560 Possible in every category in every way. 12:42.020 --> 12:45.480 And of course that's because God is gonna punish sin 12:45.480 --> 12:47.300 because he hates sin and his wrath 12:47.300 --> 12:48.460 is kindled against hell. 12:48.780 --> 12:52.200 And the Bible says just as Jonah was here 12:52.200 --> 12:56.080 in this metaphorical sense, Jesus really was there. 12:56.960 --> 12:58.860 So this is what's interesting about the book of Jonah 12:58.860 --> 13:00.940 is it's like Jonah's saying these things 13:00.940 --> 13:03.180 but then it's like literally true 13:03.880 --> 13:05.200 for the Lord Jesus Christ. 13:05.340 --> 13:06.000 He says in verse three, 13:06.160 --> 13:07.700 for thou hast cast me into the deep 13:07.700 --> 13:09.020 in the midst of the seas and the floods 13:09.020 --> 13:10.720 compass me about all thy bills 13:10.720 --> 13:11.860 and thy ways passed over me. 13:12.200 --> 13:13.980 Then I said I'm cast out of thy sight 13:13.980 --> 13:16.320 yet I will look again toward thy holy temple. 13:16.740 --> 13:19.920 The waters compass me about even to the soul. 13:20.520 --> 13:22.120 The depth closes me round about 13:22.120 --> 13:24.260 the weeds are wrapped around about my head. 13:24.520 --> 13:25.980 So again, weeds being wrapped around his head. 13:26.080 --> 13:27.420 That's Jonah that we're talking about of course. 13:28.020 --> 13:28.980 But it says here 13:28.980 --> 13:30.740 and I went down to the bottoms of the mountains 13:30.740 --> 13:32.460 the earth of the bars is about me forever 13:32.460 --> 13:34.760 yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption 13:34.760 --> 13:35.520 oh Lord my God. 13:35.980 --> 13:38.740 Verse six doesn't really make as much sense for Jonah. 13:39.620 --> 13:42.180 It's more metaphorical but for Christ 13:42.180 --> 13:44.640 the earth really was about Christ 13:44.640 --> 13:46.740 in the sense that he's in the center of the earth. 13:46.940 --> 13:49.500 So it's kind of like metaphoric for Jonah 13:49.500 --> 13:51.180 it's literal for Jesus Christ 13:51.180 --> 13:53.800 because for Jonah it's metaphor 13:53.800 --> 13:55.200 that he's in the belly of hell. 13:55.540 --> 13:57.880 For Jesus he really is in the belly of hell 13:57.880 --> 14:00.720 and so if you kind of see chapter two 14:00.720 --> 14:02.880 it almost seems like it kind of goes back and forth. 14:02.880 --> 14:05.540 It's like two is about Christ 14:05.540 --> 14:07.140 and then three is about Jonah little bit 34:11.220 --> 34:13.120 but that's just because meat in the bible 34:13.120 --> 34:14.120 a lot of times in the Old Testament 34:14.120 --> 34:16.440 it's just referring to just food in general 34:16.440 --> 34:18.720 and again the meat here is talking about 34:18.720 --> 34:20.100 flour and bread 34:20.100 --> 34:22.020 says in verse one 34:22.020 --> 34:24.280 and when any will --> 35:07.820 baking in the oven 35:07.820 --> 35:09.900 it shall be unleavened cakes 35:09.900 --> 35:11.680 of fine flour, mingle with oil 35:11.680 --> 35:15.000 or unleavened wafers anointed with oil 35:15.000 --> 35:16.060 so it has to be unleavened 35:16.700 --> 35:18.860 again this is picturing that Christ himself 35:18.860 --> 35:19.720 is sinless again 35:19.720 --> 35:21.100 the leaven is a picture of sin 35:21.100 --> 35:23.360 that's mentioned in first Corinthians chapter number five 35:23.360 --> 35:25.160 a little leaven leavened at the whole lump 35:25.160 --> 35:26.860 and it was foreshadowing sin in the church 35:26.860 --> 35:30.140 and the leaven is picturing the fact that Christ 35:30.140 --> 35:32.940 is sinless because he's unleavened 35:32.940 --> 35:35.680 and so these are unleavened cakes or wafers 35:35.680 --> 35:36.720 it's like you kind of have 35:36.720 --> 35:38.840 either an unleavened pancake 35:39.380 --> 35:42.320 or an unleavened cracker wafer really talking about the physical aspects of Christ 36:47.380 --> 36:48.800 we're talking about his physical body 36:48.800 --> 36:49.860 he had no sin 36:49.860 --> 36:51.360 he's filled with the Holy Ghost 36:51.360 --> 36:54.060 but also his body saw no corruption 36:54.660 --> 36:56.880 and if you think about this Lazarus 36:56.880 --> 36:58.920 after four days the Bible says he stinketh
