WEBVTT 00:01.100 --> 00:07.820 Man, this morning I'm going to be giving some soul winning tips from Genesis chapter 24 00:07.820 --> 00:13.920 and this is a great chapter to serve as an allegory or an analogy of getting people saved 00:13.920 --> 00:17.840 going out and preaching the gospel because if you think about it involves the servant 00:17.840 --> 00:24.440 of the master and he's going out and really bringing good news to this young woman that 00:24.440 --> 00:29.820 there's this wonderful rich guy who wants to marry her, she's going to end up just 00:29.820 --> 00:35.500 inheriting all of this great wealth and all that but she ends up having to marry 00:35.500 --> 00:40.760 him sight unseen just by faith because she's really just being told all this. 00:41.080 --> 00:46.000 Now it's not obviously just a total blind faith because the guy can kind of prove a 00:46.000 --> 00:50.460 little bit what he's saying in the sense that he's got some camels, he's got 00:50.460 --> 00:54.160 some wealth, he's got some good stuff but at the end of the day though how 00:54.160 --> 00:58.000 does she really know for sure that he's telling the truth and that he's not 00:58.000 --> 01:02.780 just you know who knows human trafficking or whatever right? She has to believe 01:03.260 --> 01:08.600 that this husband actually exists and that he's this great guy and that he's 01:08.600 --> 01:12.480 got all these resources and wealth and everything and as I was reading this 01:12.480 --> 01:15.800 Bible story this is the scripture that came to mind you can turn there if you 01:15.800 --> 01:19.640 want but it's over in 1 Peter chapter 1 we're going to be in Genesis 24 01:19.640 --> 01:23.680 throughout the whole sermon but in 1 Peter chapter 1 verse 7 it says that 01:23.680 --> 01:28.520 the trial of your faith being much more precious than of gold that 01:28.520 --> 01:34.260 perisheth though be tried with fire might be found unto praise and honor and 01:34.260 --> 01:39.800 glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ watch this whom having not seen ye 01:39.800 --> 01:45.420 love and that's what I thought of whom having not seen ye love in whom though 01:45.420 --> 01:52.300 now ye see him not yet believing ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full 01:52.300 --> 01:58.040 of glory receiving the end of your faith even the salvation of your souls of 01:58.040 --> 02:03.380 course we are saved by faith not of works as any man should boast and so the Bible 02:03.380 --> 02:08.200 says that the end result of our faith is the salvation of our souls and so 02:08.200 --> 02:12.680 we're not going to see the Lord Jesus Christ you know until first we believe in 02:12.680 --> 02:16.720 him and so we have to believe that he died on the cross for our sins was 02:16.720 --> 02:21.140 buried and rose again and we believe it because the Bible is telling us that 02:21.140 --> 02:26.620 and more specifically someone preached to us that from the Bible some soul winner 02:26.620 --> 02:32.120 some loved one some Christian gave us the gospel just like this servant is 02:32.120 --> 02:37.420 going and giving the good news to Rebecca so let's look at this story and 02:37.420 --> 02:42.580 I'm going to give you 10 practical soul winning tips that come from Genesis 02:42.580 --> 02:46.280 chapter 24 the first thing I want to point out is in Genesis 24 verse 02:46.280 --> 02:52.180 number four the Bible says but thou shalt go unto my country and to my 02:52.180 --> 02:56.100 kindred and take a wife unto my son Isaac the first thing I want to show you is 02:56.100 --> 03:03.960 that Abraham who represents God here is sending the servant to go out and 03:03.960 --> 03:08.520 reach this person Rebecca and bring her to the son which represents the Lord 03:08.520 --> 03:14.020 Jesus Christ and so point number one is this we must go soul winning we have 03:14.020 --> 03:18.760 to go preach the gospel go ye therefore into all the world and preach the 03:18.760 --> 03:25.460 gospel to every creature soul winning is about going somewhere okay what do I 03:25.460 --> 03:28.480 mean by that well the Bible says in Ephesians chapter 6 when it's giving 03:28.480 --> 03:33.300 the whole armor of God it says your feet need to be shod with the 03:33.300 --> 03:38.020 preparation of the gospel of peace notice that the gospel is the part of 03:38.020 --> 03:41.940 the garment that goes on the feet why the Bible also says how beautiful are 03:41.940 --> 03:46.200 the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace and bring glad tidings of good 03:46.200 --> 03:49.960 things notice that the feet are associated with preaching the gospel 03:49.960 --> 03:53.540 because it's about going out there and getting people safe it's not about 03:53.540 --> 03:58.920 waiting for people to come to us to hear the gospel it's about us taking it 03:58.920 --> 04:02.440 to them and it's funny sometimes when we'll be out knocking doors and 04:02.440 --> 04:06.340 evangelizing and soul winning we'll run into somebody and they'll say hey 04:06.340 --> 04:10.260 you need to stop doing this you need to stop knocking doors we don't want 04:10.260 --> 04:12.840 you here we don't want you in this neighborhood you shouldn't be in this 04:12.840 --> 04:15.920 apartment complex and here's what they'll say sometimes they'll say you know if 04:15.920 --> 04:20.800 people want to go to your church they'll go find it they'll go seek it 04:20.800 --> 04:24.540 out they'll look for it and come to your church it's like no that's an 04:24.540 --> 04:29.420 absolutely wrong we are gonna bring the message to them because you don't 04:29.420 --> 04:32.840 know what you don't know and here's the thing a lot of the people that 04:32.840 --> 04:36.340 we preach the gospel to they don't really know what they need they don't 04:36.340 --> 04:41.080 even know necessarily that they need the gospel until we get there and preach it 04:41.080 --> 04:46.220 to them and so the gospel is all about going out and getting people safe other 04:46.220 --> 04:50.200 people have this mentality of well let's just invite people to church and bring 04:50.200 --> 04:54.660 people to church and then they'll show up and get saved but no my friend I 04:54.660 --> 04:59.320 preach sermons geared toward people that are already saved right the purpose 04:59.320 --> 05:05.520 of church is to edify the body of Christ to equip the saved saints I 05:05.520 --> 05:10.060 mean it's a assembly of board again baptized believers and so that's why I'm 05:10.060 --> 05:14.600 preaching to and by the way if I see a visitor stumble in or somebody brings an 05:14.600 --> 05:18.400 unsaved loved one I don't change my whole sermon to just preach salvation to 05:18.400 --> 05:22.200 that person what I'm gonna do is just approach that person after the service 05:22.200 --> 05:25.500 and give them the gospel one-on-one or someone else will approach them and 05:25.500 --> 05:29.760 give them the gospel one-on-one because most of our soul winning is gonna 05:29.760 --> 05:34.160 take place out there in the highways and hedges preaching the gospel to 05:34.160 --> 05:37.660 every creature going out into all the world going out to the Indian 05:37.660 --> 05:42.140 reservation foreign countries neighborhoods everywhere we got to go out 05:42.140 --> 05:46.400 there yeah sometimes we'll get people saved here in the church building but 05:46.400 --> 05:51.720 99% of it happens out there so we got to go and so notice he's saying you need 05:51.720 --> 05:58.980 to go to this far country and go preach this message but point number two 05:58.980 --> 06:04.380 is that soul winning is our responsibility it's our responsibility to 06:04.380 --> 06:09.460 evangelize look what it says in Genesis 24 5 and the servant said unto him per 06:09.460 --> 06:13.700 adventure the woman will not be willing to follow me under this land must I 06:13.700 --> 06:18.080 needs bring thy son again unto the land for whence thou came us and Abraham 06:18.080 --> 06:23.280 said unto him beware that thou bring not my son thither again and the idea 06:23.280 --> 06:28.040 here is that Jesus Christ is not going to come back to this earth and do the 06:28.040 --> 06:32.940 soul winning for us right sorry book of Mormon but no Jesus didn't show up and 06:32.940 --> 06:36.600 evangelize the American Indians or whatever they think that never happened 06:36.600 --> 06:42.380 that's not real Jesus Christ came to this earth one time he lived the perfect 06:42.380 --> 06:45.880 life that none of us could live he died on the cross for our sins he was 06:45.880 --> 06:50.620 buried he rose again the third day and then he ascended up to heaven right 06:50.620 --> 06:55.420 and the Bible says this same Jesus which you've seen go into heaven he 06:55.420 --> 06:59.400 said show so come in like manner as you've seen him going to heaven and so 06:59.400 --> 07:03.120 someday he is going to come back the second coming he's going to come with 07:03.120 --> 07:07.720 clouds and every eye shall see him but at that point that's the end of the 07:07.720 --> 07:12.000 world at that point okay he's not going to come and do the evangelism for 07:12.000 --> 07:16.680 us you know we have to go it's not like oh let's just bring Isaac to the 07:16.680 --> 07:21.340 far country and have him talk to Rebecca himself no it's not the way 07:21.340 --> 07:25.940 it works we're going to go and tell Rebecca about Isaac and she has to 07:25.940 --> 07:31.680 believe in Isaac and make the choice so soul winnings our responsibility listen 07:31.680 --> 07:35.460 to what the Bible says in second Corinthians chapter 5 verse 20 it says 07:35.460 --> 07:42.380 now then we are ambassadors for Christ as though God did beseech you by us we 07:42.380 --> 07:47.160 pray you in Christ stead be ye reconciled to God the Bible says we are 07:47.160 --> 07:52.700 in the place of Christ as ambassadors for Christ standing in for Christ 07:52.700 --> 07:58.020 representing Christ just like in the story the servant is going instead of Isaac 07:58.020 --> 08:02.500 going and getting a wife the servant is going and representing Isaac preaching 08:02.500 --> 08:08.160 the message we preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and we are ambassadors for 08:08.160 --> 08:12.300 Christ listen what Jesus said in John 9 5 he said as long as I'm in the 08:12.300 --> 08:17.760 world I'm the light of the world as long as I'm in the world I'm the light of the 08:17.760 --> 08:22.260 world well here's the thing Jesus Christ already ascended up to heaven and now he 08:22.260 --> 08:26.200 says to us you are the light of the world we are the light of the world 08:27.020 --> 08:32.140 Jesus he preached he went about doing good he evangelized but now it's up 08:32.140 --> 08:36.820 to us he's up in heaven seated at the right hand of God and now the job is 08:36.820 --> 08:43.720 ours the third point is this if someone doesn't get saved it's not our fault 08:44.280 --> 08:48.880 it's not our fault if someone doesn't get saved look at Genesis 24 verse 8 and if 08:48.880 --> 08:53.520 the woman will not be willing to follow thee then thou shalt be clear from this 08:53.520 --> 08:57.760 my oath only bring not my son again so notice Abraham is saying to the servant 08:57.760 --> 09:02.380 hey if she doesn't believe you if she doesn't listen if she doesn't want to 09:02.380 --> 09:06.860 come back and marry Isaac then you know what you're off the hook it's not your 09:06.860 --> 09:10.900 fault and it's funny sometimes I'll be out evangelizing with somebody who is 09:10.900 --> 09:15.680 maybe kind of a beginner or whatever and will be out evangelizing and they'll do 09:15.680 --> 09:18.520 a great job of preaching the gospel to somebody and the person will not get 09:18.520 --> 09:23.740 saved because guess what it's a personal choice that that person has to make you 09:23.740 --> 09:27.180 can take the horse to the water but you can't make a drink we're just there 09:27.180 --> 09:29.940 to preach the message people here they're gonna get saved or not it's 09:29.940 --> 09:34.480 up to them and then that person will sometimes look at me and say hey what do 09:34.480 --> 09:38.180 you think I did wrong there you know what did I do wrong you know why didn't 09:38.180 --> 09:40.620 this person gets and I'm just I'm just thinking like you didn't do anything 09:40.620 --> 09:45.100 wrong you did a great job it's just this person didn't get saved because 09:45.100 --> 09:49.760 it's up to them to either get saved or you can't make people get saved and 09:49.760 --> 09:54.380 so if someone doesn't get saved it's not our fault you can turn to this 09:54.380 --> 09:58.860 if you want but Ezekiel 33 is a great example on this verse 6 it 09:58.860 --> 10:04.400 says but if the watchman see the sword come and blow not the trumpet and the 10:04.400 --> 10:09.480 people be not warned if the sword come and take any person from among them he's 10:09.480 --> 10:14.000 taken away in his iniquity but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand 10:14.000 --> 10:18.660 what's the Bible saying if someone is appointed to be security if it's 10:18.660 --> 10:24.060 somebody's job to be on the wall watching and looking out for there to 10:24.060 --> 10:30.300 be some kind of an enemy invader and then they fail to warn and then the enemy 10:30.300 --> 10:35.740 comes and destroys and your whole job was to watch and do security then you know 10:35.740 --> 10:41.360 it's your fault that the enemy came in and their blood is required at your hand 10:41.360 --> 10:47.120 but then it says this in the next verse so thou oh son of man I have set thee a 10:47.120 --> 10:51.480 watchman under the house of Israel therefore thou shalt hear the word at 10:51.480 --> 10:55.400 my mouth and warn them from me well here's the thing when we go out soul 10:55.400 --> 11:00.020 winning not only are we bringing the good news of the gospel we're also bringing a 11:00.020 --> 11:04.080 warning that we've all sinned and come short of the glory of God we're also 11:04.080 --> 11:08.720 bringing a warning that hell is real and that there's none other name than 11:08.720 --> 11:13.040 the name of Jesus of Nazareth there's none other name under heaven given 11:13.040 --> 11:20.400 among men whereby we must be saved and that's a warning get saved or else 11:20.400 --> 11:25.840 hell is real but listen to this it says in verse 9 nevertheless if thou warned the 11:25.840 --> 11:30.560 wicked of his way to turn from it if he do not turn from his way he shall die in 11:30.560 --> 11:34.940 his iniquity but thou has delivered thy soul so he's saying look if you go out 11:34.940 --> 11:39.000 and warn people let's say someone's living a destructive lifestyle right 11:39.000 --> 11:44.160 and somebody is a drunkard and they're driving drunk and doing all these things 11:44.160 --> 11:48.640 and you warn this person to be like hey you know eventually you're gonna get 11:48.640 --> 11:53.460 somebody killed out there hey all this drinking you're doing is damaging your 11:53.460 --> 11:58.320 health it's damaging your relationships you're gonna get a DUI you might kill 11:58.320 --> 12:02.460 someone in an accident or something you know if you're warning that person and 12:02.460 --> 12:06.700 then they go out and do it anyway it's not your fault because you warned 12:06.700 --> 12:11.220 them and so it's like hey you know what their blood is not on my hands 12:11.220 --> 12:16.360 because I warned and so the same analogy can work for the gospel if 12:17.040 --> 12:20.700 you're out there preaching the gospel and say hey look there's heaven and hell 12:20.700 --> 12:25.920 and we all deserve hell but Jesus died for you it's easy to be saved you just 12:25.920 --> 12:28.960 need to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you go through the plan of 12:28.960 --> 12:34.320 salvation and that person rejects the gospel it's not your fault and now 12:34.320 --> 12:38.860 that person's blood is not on your hands you're off the hook and that's 12:38.860 --> 12:43.050 what the apostle Paul said in the book of Acts he said I am free from the 12:43.050 --> 12:48.390 blood of all men because he said I've not shunned to declare unto you all the 12:48.390 --> 12:53.690 counsel of God so I have preached the word of God and so at this point if 12:53.690 --> 12:57.370 people don't listen that's their problem that's their fault so this could go 12:57.370 --> 13:01.710 for sin like if I'm up here warning about drinking and warning about 13:01.710 --> 13:06.050 fornication adultery stealing murder and then people go out and do it 13:06.050 --> 13:10.990 anyway it's not my problem whereas if I get up and preach a bunch of feel 13:10.990 --> 13:16.150 good soft soap sermons every day and then people are just committing 13:16.150 --> 13:20.910 fornication drinking doing drugs then it is my fault because I'm not doing the 13:20.910 --> 13:27.610 job that God called me to do which is to warn every man to preach the word of 13:27.610 --> 13:32.010 God to warn God's people about sin you know what does the Bible say cry 13:32.010 --> 13:38.250 aloud spare not lift up thy voice like a trumpet and show my people their sins 13:38.750 --> 13:42.690 that's what the Bible literally says about preaching you know some people say 13:42.690 --> 13:45.230 you know oh why are you raising your voice why are you yelling when you 13:45.230 --> 13:50.890 preach off because the Bible says so you know it's like oh I just can't stand all 13:50.890 --> 13:53.790 the yelling yeah I don't bring some shooting earplugs or something it's too 13:53.790 --> 13:58.490 loud you know go stand in the lobby and listen to it from there but the 13:58.490 --> 14:03.230 point is that I'm up here yelling and screaming and preaching these things 14:03.230 --> 14:08.770 because of the fact that the message is urgent because it's like well why did you 14:08.770 --> 14:11.810 yell at me when my house was burning down you could have said good morning you 14:11.810 --> 14:16.650 could have been nice it's like what obviously it's an urgent message we're 14:16.650 --> 14:19.510 warning people but here's the thing if someone doesn't get saved that's not 14:19.510 --> 14:23.390 our fault and it's so important that you realize this for a few different 14:23.390 --> 14:29.290 reasons okay one reason is that you don't want to be pushing people and 14:29.290 --> 14:32.590 forcing people to pray some prayer with you when they don't even believe 14:32.590 --> 14:36.650 the message you know all you're there to deliver the message and yeah you want 14:36.650 --> 14:40.550 to obviously compel people to get saved and you want to push them toward that 14:40.550 --> 14:44.010 and you want to preach to them but at the end of the day you can't force 14:44.010 --> 14:47.950 people to get saved so don't go into it like oh I'm just I'm this guy's getting 14:47.950 --> 14:52.190 saved whether he wants to or not that's just a dumb way to approach it but 14:52.190 --> 14:56.610 now also people can get discouraged or down if people aren't getting saved 14:56.610 --> 14:59.650 like oh I must not be any good at that I don't know what I'm doing or 14:59.650 --> 15:03.830 I'm not filled with the spirit it's just like not necessarily because it's their 15:03.830 --> 15:08.810 choice now obviously if you're just never getting anyone saved there's probably a 15:08.810 --> 15:12.430 problem because the Bible says either go forth and weep at bearing precious 15:12.430 --> 15:15.810 seed shall doubtless come again with rejoicing bringing his sheaves with them 15:15.810 --> 15:19.770 so yeah eventually you should be getting people saved or yeah there's a 15:19.770 --> 15:24.930 problem but in general it's not your fault if people aren't getting saved 15:24.930 --> 15:28.190 because you're just out there to preach and the best soul winner in the 15:28.190 --> 15:31.470 world could go to the most receptive place in the world and they might go 15:31.470 --> 15:34.290 soul winning for hours and get no one saved just because they're running into 15:34.290 --> 15:39.190 the people that aren't interested or whatever so it's just life it's not 15:39.190 --> 15:43.890 our fault also when people get mad at you or treat you mean out soul winning 15:43.890 --> 15:47.590 don't take it personally because they're not really rejecting you they're 15:47.590 --> 15:50.730 rejecting the gospel they're rejecting Christ so don't take it personally it's 15:50.730 --> 15:56.690 not you that's the issue number four in that same vein is we should be 15:56.690 --> 16:01.270 praying for God to lead us to the people that are receptive right we should pray 16:01.270 --> 16:04.550 for God to lead us and we often do this when we go soul winning when we go on a 16:04.550 --> 16:08.950 mission strip we pray that God will lead us to the people that are receptive and 16:08.950 --> 16:13.330 I always just pray that people that are unreceptive or people that are just 16:13.330 --> 16:17.210 kind of professional time wasters or just want to argue I just pray that 16:17.210 --> 16:21.030 they won't even be home or that they'll just blow me off as quickly as 16:21.030 --> 16:24.690 possible so I can get to the good ones look what the Bible says in Genesis 16:24.690 --> 16:31.670 2412 he said oh Lord my excuse me oh Lord God of my master Abraham I pray thee send 16:31.670 --> 16:35.690 me good speed this day and show kindness under my master Abraham verse 13 16:35.690 --> 16:39.750 behold I stand here by the well of water and the daughters of the men of the 16:39.750 --> 16:43.770 city come out to draw water and let it come to pass that the damsel to whom I 16:43.770 --> 16:47.990 shall say let down my picture I pray thee that I may drink and she shall 16:47.990 --> 16:53.070 say drink and I will give thy camel's drink also let the same be she that 16:53.070 --> 16:57.110 was appointed for thy servant Isaac thereby shall I know that thou has showed 16:57.110 --> 17:02.470 kindness under my master he's praying for God to lead one wife it's just Isaac 17:02.470 --> 17:07.430 and Rebecca but in our case obviously there are a lot of right people because 17:07.430 --> 17:11.430 we're going out and preaching the gospel to many many people and so we want to 17:11.430 --> 17:16.330 pray that God will lead us to the right people meaning that people that want 17:16.330 --> 17:19.270 to know the gospel people that are ready to receive we call them 17:19.270 --> 17:24.270 receptive people people that are interested I don't want to cast my pearls 17:24.270 --> 17:28.770 before swine I want to preach the gospel to somebody who's receptive somebody 17:28.770 --> 17:31.970 who's interested somebody who wants to hear the gospel that's what I'm looking 17:31.970 --> 17:37.750 for and you know what I don't care if 10 people 15 people 20 people tell me no 17:37.750 --> 17:42.330 and are rude to me and blow me off and mock me it's worth it when I get to 17:42.330 --> 17:47.690 that one person that wants to hear the gospel and that ends up believing the 17:47.690 --> 17:51.970 gospel and getting saved and so want to pray that God will lead us to those that 17:51.970 --> 17:55.670 are receptive right what does the Bible say in Matthew chapter 10 verse 14 17:55.670 --> 18:00.130 whosoever should not receive you nor hear your words when you depart out of 18:00.130 --> 18:04.970 that house or city shake off the dust to your feet barely I say to you it 18:04.970 --> 18:08.070 shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of 18:08.070 --> 18:11.630 judgment than for that city so he's saying man the worst thing people could 18:11.630 --> 18:16.890 do is have the gospel just show up gift wrapped on their doorstep and 18:16.890 --> 18:20.730 they're just rudely blowing it off he's like man they're gonna be punished 18:20.730 --> 18:24.290 worse than the people in Sodom and Gomorrah because they just had this gift 18:24.290 --> 18:28.710 wrapped gospel presentation and rejected it you know that and by the way 18:28.710 --> 18:32.570 if you're here this morning and you're not saved and you don't know for sure 18:32.570 --> 18:35.350 you're going to heaven and you don't believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as 18:35.350 --> 18:39.390 your savior let me tell you something hell is gonna be really hot for you 18:39.390 --> 18:43.970 buddy because you know what you are in soul-winning central right now and 18:43.970 --> 18:50.890 so imagine going to faithful word for weeks or months or years and not getting 18:50.890 --> 18:56.210 saved it's like bro you went to faithful word Baptist church and you didn't get 18:56.210 --> 19:02.410 saved wow you're going to extra hell because you had every opportunity I mean 19:02.410 --> 19:05.970 some other kids growing up in some Muslim country he's growing up with 19:05.970 --> 19:10.650 atheist parents he's growing up over here with some hollyweird parents you 19:10.650 --> 19:14.110 know somebody's growing up with Jewish parents and Buddhist parents it's like 19:14.110 --> 19:18.410 you are growing up a faithful word Baptist church you better get saved 19:18.410 --> 19:24.650 before you burn in hell unbelievable I mean talk about gift wrapped everyone 19:24.650 --> 19:27.990 or you could close your eyes and spin around in a circle and just reach out 19:27.990 --> 19:32.110 and grab the first person and they can tell you how to be saved here they 19:32.110 --> 19:34.410 could pull out the Bible and effectively tell you how to be saved if 19:34.410 --> 19:36.870 it doesn't work then do it one more time and then it will work second 19:36.870 --> 19:44.090 time I'm telling you okay and and you know constant Bible preaching the gospel 19:44.090 --> 19:48.870 boy you better get saved and you know Sodom and Gomorrah is a pretty messed up 19:48.870 --> 19:53.870 place I'd hate for the people from Sodom and more to be upstairs from me in 19:53.870 --> 19:59.170 hell I mean that's pretty bad when you're in the lower hell unbelievable so 19:59.170 --> 20:02.950 number four pray for God to lead you to those receptive people but not only 20:02.950 --> 20:08.750 that expect God to answer that prayer believe that people are going to get 20:08.750 --> 20:12.470 saved you know when I go out so wanting I expect people to get saved I believe 20:12.470 --> 20:16.650 that God's going to answer my prayer that God's going to lead me and that 20:16.650 --> 20:21.150 people are --> 36:09.070 are gonna believe it some people aren't and so at some point you're gonna ask 36:09.070 --> 36:13.710 the person you know hey do you believe this or not you know do I turn to the 36:13.710 --> 36:18.590 right hand or do I turn to the left right because we can't control whether 36:18.590 --> 36:23.730 people believe or get saved it's up to them now I don't think that you should 36:31.370 --> 36:35.330 many questions because when you ask a bazillion questions you're just giving 36:35.330 --> 36:39.050 so many opportunities for the conversation to be derailed or for the 36:39.050 --> 36:42.690 train to go off the track also it can feel like you're badgering someone 36:42.690 --> 36:46.530 if you're just interrogating them and just barraging them with just a 36:46.530 --> 36:51.450 machine gun of questions you know just it can be overwhelming it can put 36:51.450 --> 36:55.830 people on their guard you want to keep it friendly you want to keep it casual you 36:55.830 --> 37:00.230 want to stay cool and so I don't think you should ask too many questions but at 37:00.230 --> 37:03.790 the end once I've given the gospel and I'll ask like a couple questions 37:03.790 --> 37:07.330 throughout to make sure they're tracking with me I'll ask a couple 37:07.330 --> 37:10.290 questions but not too many as I'm going through the gospel then once I get 37:10.290 --> 37:15.410 down to the end though I asked them questions to make sure they 37:15.410 --> 37:18.270 understand so when I get down to the very end I've explained everything preached 37:18.270 --> 37:21.910 everything and it seems like they got it then I'll say okay well let me ask you 37:21.910 --> 37:27.370 a couple questions do you believe that you've sinned these are the questions 37:27.370 --> 37:30.070 I'll typically go through with somebody you know do you believe that you deserve 37:30.070 --> 37:34.470 hell do you believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins do you believe 37:43.470 --> 37:48.290 ever do to screw that up you know just to gauge whether they understand that 37:48.290 --> 37:52.690 salvation is totally by faith it's not of works and that you can never lose your 37:52.690 --> 37:58.730 salvation because it's eternal life and Jesus paid it all etc which brings me to 37:58.730 --> 38:01.910 point number nine once I get the feedback where they're answering the 38:01.910 --> 38:04.590 questions and showing that they comprehended what I've been 38:04.590 --> 38:09.370 preaching to them number nine is this if they're getting it try to get them 38:09.370 --> 38:13.350 to make a decision today and see this is another mistake that people will make 38:13.350 --> 38:17.150 out so winning is they'll they'll preach the gospel and just kind of leave it 38:17.150 --> 38:20.990 with them and then just kind of walk away and they don't really know how to 38:21.530 --> 38:26.170 quote-unquote close the deal you know they don't really know how to bring it message themselves 52:20.330 --> 52:23.870 with other people because now that they're saved they're qualified to go 52:23.870 --> 52:27.150 give the gospel to someone else and you can even give them you know the YouTube 52:27.150 --> 52:31.210 card or the church invite or whatever and show them hey this is what you can go 52:31.210 --> 52:35.390 over this is the message I showed you you can play this video for this person 52:35.390 --> 52:40.230 or you can explain these verses and the same way I did with you and kind of 52:40.230 --> 52:46.030 put that idea in their mind of reproducing and not just getting saved 52:46.030 --> 52:50.210 and that's great and to hell with everybody else no getting saved and 52:50.210 --> 52:55.710 then getting other people say look what the Bible says in become their own tree that will be so it's like I bring 54:15.550 --> 54:22.630 forth fruit right by reap I reproduce and then that fruit reproduces and then 54:22.630 --> 54:28.590 that fruit reproduces and it could be a chain of the person who gets saved is the 54:28.590 --> 54:32.870 fruit but then over time they become the tree that produces the fruit and so 54:32.870 --> 54:37.190 the
