kind of like one thought. 00:31.940 --> 00:33.580 And my goal is to try and kind of go through 00:33.580 --> 00:35.020 the sentences a little bit 00:35.020 --> 00:36.660 and just try to get the big through 01:41.140 --> 01:42.140 in the book of Ephesians 01:42.140 --> 01:44.400 that what he's really been getting at 01:44.400 --> 01:46.320 with the predestination language 01:46.320 --> 01:48.220 and the fact that they've been elected 01:48.220 --> 01:49.460 and all this different stuff 01:49.460 --> 01:50.880 is to try and get to this point 01:50.880 --> 01:52.560 being emphasized in chapter three 01:53.040 --> 01:56.900 that the Gentiles are gonna be grafted in, 01:57.080 --> 01:59.320 that the Gentiles are fellow heirs, 01:59.420 --> 02:01.320 that the Gentiles are also gonna inherit, 02:01.800 --> 02:03.440 that the Gentiles are adopted in, 02:03.800 --> 02:04.760 they're not plan B, 02:05.260 --> 02:06.380 it was plan A, 02:06.780 --> 02:07.920 it was always the plan, 02:08.020 --> 02:09.080 it was always the idea, 02:09.540 --> 02:13.800 but obviously this plan of getting Gentiles saved 02:13.800 --> 02:15.740 had to have a practical solution 02:16.100 --> 02:18.580 and the practical solution was the apostle Paul. 02:18.580 --> 02:20.800 The apostle Paul was the minister, 02:20.880 --> 02:23.540 was the person to essentially go out 02:23.940 --> 02:26.220 and really start this major work 02:26.220 --> 02:27.940 of getting Gentiles saved. 02:28.100 --> 02:29.640 So he's saying Paul, I was the minister 02:30.240 --> 02:32.080 by which the Gentiles would get saved. and that they are gonna be grafted in, 03:16.740 --> 03:18.060 that they are the fellow heirs, 03:18.180 --> 03:19.160 that they're now the citizens 03:19.160 --> 03:22.320 of this new spiritual nation of Israel. 03:22.940 --> 03:25.780 And this was something that as described here 03:25.780 --> 03:26.760 in other ages, 03:27.620 --> 03:30.600 it says was not made known unto the sons of men And so there's a sense of it being revealed. 03:56.080 --> 03:58.040 Just like we have at the end of our New Testament, 03:58.220 --> 03:59.520 the book of Revelation. 04:00.280 --> 04:01.500 What is Revelation? 04:01.840 --> 04:04.180 Well, what's being revealed is the end times. 04:04.580 --> 04:06.200 But we have books like Daniel. 04:06.340 --> 04:07.840 We have other books of the Bible 04:07.840 --> 04:10.460 that can point to events of the end times 04:10.460 --> 04:12.140 and things that are gonna happen 04:12.140 --> 04:13.740 and the abomination of desolations 04:13.740 --> 04:15.020 mentioned in the gospels. 04:15.360 --> 04:18.480 But the book of Revelation really reveals unto us 04:18.480 --> 04:21.380 and really explains to us in great detail 04:21.900 --> 04:23.820 what's gonna happen in the end times. 04:24.260 --> 04:25.360 So in the same way, 04:25.680 --> 04:28.660 this is being revealed in a unique way 04:28.660 --> 04:30.200 to the apostles and to the prophets. 04:30.440 --> 04:33.280 And it's now something that's becoming manifest. 04:33.540 --> 04:35.700 We're seeing it come to play 04:35.700 --> 04:38.560 and it's not something that's really a there could be a couple ways that this is a mystery. 04:51.380 --> 04:52.840 It could be a mystery in the sense that 04:55.400 --> 04:56.880 Jews didn't think that Gentiles 04:56.880 --> 04:58.300 05:03.800 --> 05:05.380 Another way to look at this is that, 05:05.480 --> 05:07.320 hey, we knew that the Gentiles would come in, 05:07.800 --> 05:09.680 we just didn't know how it was gonna happen. 05:09.740 --> 05:11.080 It was kind of a mystery to us. 05:11.400 --> 05:14.340 How was God gonna cause this to come to pass? 05:14.540 --> 05:16.600 We don't really understand how this is possible 05:17.200 --> 05:21.040 or by which vehicle this could be something accomplished 05:21.660 --> 05:23.920 even though they may have realized it was gonna happen. 05:24.300 --> 05:26.820 What's being revealed is how it's going to happen. 05:26.900 --> 05:28.140 And again, what is that revealing? 05:28.360 --> 05:30.840 It's Paul literally going out there preaching the gospel 05:30.840 --> 05:33.400 and almost single-handedly in a sense, 05:33.600 --> 05:34.780 getting the gospel lots of people, 05:34.780 --> 05:37.420 them getting saved and them being grafted in and brought in. 05:38.040 --> 05:41.720 We notice that what is their place, 05:42.300 --> 05:45.160 their placement is fellow heirs in verse six. 05:45.720 --> 05:47.460 Their placement is the same body 05:47.900 --> 05:51.300 and that they are partakers of his promise. 05:51.940 --> 05:55.060 So Jesus Christ did not die on the cross 05:55.060 --> 05:58.200 only for the Jews but also for the Gentiles. 05:58.420 --> 06:00.440 And so they are also fellow heirs. 06:00.680 --> 06:02.540 We're also part of that same body of Christ 06:03.040 --> 06:05.820 and now we are partakers of those same promises 06:05.820 Jews. 06:38.740 --> 06:40.900 They have like messianic services 06:41.400 --> 06:45.060 or they're trying to separate the Jews and the Gentiles 06:45.060 --> 06:47.900 where the whole point of the New Testament is like, 06:47.940 --> 06:49.760 no, we don't have this separation anymore. 06:50.300 --> 06:51.520 We're all coming together. 06:52.160 --> 06:55.620 And in Christ there's no longer Jew or Gentile. 06:55.920 --> 06:58.400 That doesn't mean that there is no longer Jew or Gentile. 06:59.220 --> 07:01.460 He's saying in the house of God, 07:01.840 --> 07:03.620 there's not this distinction that matters. 07:03.840 --> 07:05.360 The distinction of Jew and Gentile 07:05.360 --> 07:08.900 doesn't really play any role in the house of God in the church. 07:09.220 --> 07:11.020 Albeit there is still a distinction. 07:11.340 --> 07:14.540 There is still differences of persons here, 07:15.020 --> 07:18.620 different heritages, histories, background, strengths, 07:19.020 --> 07:20.020 different roles and different responsibilities 08:26.760 --> 08:29.180 that are not based on genetics 08:29.180 --> 08:32.260 or not based on race or any of these kind of things. 08:32.480 --> 08:36.460 And so, you know, we have this being played out 08:36.460 --> 08:39.880 and why are we talking about this? 08:40.460 --> 08:42.740 You know, Ephesians chapters one, two and three 08:42.740 --> 08:46.220 are basically just getting us all the way to understand, 08:46.820 --> 08:48.360 hey, you guys were playing a, 08:49.180 --> 08:51.120 you know, God's broken down the middle wall 08:51.120 --> 08:53.800 partition between us in chapter two, chapter three, 08:53.800 --> 08:55.600 this was a mystery that's now been revealed 08:56.260 --> 08:57.560 and it's happened. 08:58.180 --> 08:59.560 And then chapters four, five and six 08:59.560 --> 09:02.320 are then gonna emphasize, since that's happened, 09:02.420 --> 09:04.460 because you are predestined to do this, 09:04.840 --> 09:07.760 because there's no more middle wall between us, 09:07.900 --> 09:10.680 because you are part of the same body of Christ, 09:11.080 --> 09:13.760 now you need to put on the arm of God, 09:13.980 --> 09:16.140 you need to walk and follow Christ, 09:16.380 --> 09:18.560 you need to basically do the things of Christ 09:18.560 --> 09:20.040 and be a part of the family. 09:20.560 --> 09:22.000 And so we're kind of building up 09:22.000 --> 09:24.000 to that particular context. 09:24.160 --> 09:28.080 But I wanna illustrate of this mystery idea 09:28.500 --> 09:30.440 how this is constantly brought up in the Bible. 09:30.560 --> 09:32.860 Go to Romans chapter 11, if you would, 09:32.920 --> 09:33.980 go to Romans chapter 11. 09:34.840 --> 09:37.420 Now there are a few other times the Bible 09:37.420 --> 09:41.940 uses the word mystery that is not about this context. 09:42.640 --> 09:45.980 So there's kind of like three contexts 09:45.980 --> 09:48.680 that mystery is used that I can find in the Bible. 09:49.260 --> 09:51.220 One would be the mystery of the gospel itself. 09:51.920 --> 09:54.860 The second would be the mystery of essentially 09:54.860 --> 09:56.700 the Gentiles being grafted in. 09:57.060 --> 09:58.840 And then you kind of have a third category 09:58.840 --> 10:01.580 that would say it'd be like prophetic in times mysteries. 10:02.200 --> 10:03.960 And in those prophetic in times mysteries, 10:04.140 --> 10:05.660 you have things like the seven stars, 10:05.840 --> 10:06.640 the mystery of iniquity. 10:07.020 --> 10:09.000 You also have the mystery of God being revealed. 10:09.120 --> 10:09.900 So you kind of have some like 10:09.900 --> 10:11.300 in times prophetic mysteries. 10:12.000 --> 10:14.980 You have the mysteries associated with the gospel, 10:16.180 --> 10:17.920 which is just the fact that Jesus Christ 10:17.920 --> 10:20.760 was gonna die on the cross, be dead, 10:20.960 --> 10:22.040 rise again from the dead. 10:22.200 --> 10:23.480 And just basically that the gospel 10:23.480 --> 10:26.020 is paying for all of our sins, salvation 10:26.020 --> 10:28.180 has been accomplished through what Christ has done. 10:28.900 --> 10:31.740 And of course, in relation to that, 10:31.940 --> 10:33.640 close relation is that the Gentiles 10:33.640 --> 10:36.600 are gonna also be saved by that same faith in the gospel. 10:37.160 --> 10:39.980 But again, many times when it's bringing up mystery 10:40.580 --> 10:41.320 in the New Testament, 10:41.480 --> 10:43.840 it's specifically about the Gentiles being saved. 10:44.140 --> 10:46.020 Okay, and so that's what I wanna really focus on. 10:46.500 --> 10:48.760 I understand there's a few other times mystery is used, 10:49.180 --> 10:52.040 but it's consistently used in the New Testament 10:52.040 --> 10:53.200 about this concept. 10:53.360 --> 10:54.600 Romans 11 verse 25, 10:55.520 --> 10:57.420 for it not brethren that you should be ignorant 10:57.420 --> 10:58.480 of this mystery, 10:59.340 --> 11:01.640 lest you should be wise in your own conceits 11:01.640 --> 11:04.340 that blindness in part has happened to Israel. 11:04.840 --> 11:07.900 Notice this, until the fullness of the Gentiles 11:08.620 --> 11:09.300 become in. 11:09.700 --> 11:11.820 So he's saying, hey, there was this mystery, 11:12.580 --> 11:13.960 but what is the mystery? 11:13.960 --> 11:16.080 The mystery was that the Gentiles are coming in. 11:17.040 --> 11:19.400 So blindness has happened in part to Israel, 11:20.020 --> 11:20.640 so that what? 11:20.800 --> 11:22.980 So that the Gentiles can come in in a sense. 11:23.560 --> 11:25.420 And so obviously Romans chapter 11 11:25.420 --> 11:28.520 is making it clear that even though Christ came 11:28.520 --> 11:30.840 into his own, his own did not necessarily receive him. 11:30.940 --> 11:32.480 They're not all Israel, which are of Israel. 11:33.140 --> 11:35.460 And so as a result, 11:35.820 --> 11:39.000 instead of just staying with Israel, 11:39.620 --> 11:42.120 God basically just rejects the nation as a whole, 11:42.120 --> 11:44.260 counts them all in unbelief, 11:44.520 --> 11:45.400 so that then what? 11:45.620 --> 11:47.760 So that then the Gentiles can now be grafted in. 11:48.080 --> 11:51.260 And it is in part because it's not that literally 11:51.260 --> 11:52.820 every Israelite was rejected. 11:53.280 --> 11:54.940 No, the apostle Paul's not rejected, 11:55.480 --> 11:56.600 some of the other Jews are not rejected, 11:56.920 --> 11:59.040 but they're all counted in unbelief 11:59.040 --> 12:01.700 so that then Christ can then have mercy 12:01.700 --> 12:03.180 on the Gentiles and bring them in. 12:03.220 --> 12:04.060 Look what it says in verse 11. 12:04.620 --> 12:06.620 I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? 12:06.760 --> 12:09.140 God forbid, but rather through their fall, 12:09.140 --> 12:11.680 salvation has come under the Gentiles 12:12.200 --> 12:14.940 for to provoke them to jealousy. 12:15.540 --> 12:18.460 So again, he counts them all in unbelief 12:18.460 --> 12:20.520 so that then the gospel can go to others 12:20.520 --> 12:24.360 to try and provoke them to come back into the fold 12:24.360 --> 12:26.640 and actually receive salvation 12:26.640 --> 12:28.580 and want to get saved 12:28.580 --> 12:31.220 because they see what God is doing for them. 12:31.860 --> 12:34.020 And so we kind of live in the time of the Gentiles 12:34.020 --> 12:35.900 in a sense, but I also believe 12:36.580 --> 12:39.740 that can be referencing an end times fulfillment as well. 12:39.880 --> 12:42.500 Go to Romans chapter 16, Romans chapter 16. 12:43.000 --> 12:45.600 So again, we have the mystery is that 12:46.280 --> 12:48.740 God has done with the physical nation of Israel 12:49.340 --> 12:50.220 so that what? 12:50.500 --> 12:51.780 So that Gentiles can come in 12:51.780 --> 12:52.980 and we have now a spiritual nation. 12:53.400 --> 12:55.720 And that was a mystery because they're thinking, 12:56.160 --> 12:58.420 even some of Christ's disciples are thinking 12:58.420 --> 12:59.880 that Christ is gonna come and restore 12:59.880 --> 13:00.900 the nation of Israel 13:00.900 --> 13:02.580 and that we're gonna have a rebirth 13:02.580 --> 13:03.700 of the nation of Israel 13:03.700 --> 13:06.540 and that Israel is gonna be at the top again 13:06.540 --> 13:07.940 like when David was in charge 13:07.940 --> 13:09.400 or when Solomon was in charge 13:09.900 --> 13:12.100 but that's not what Christ's goal was. 13:12.240 --> 13:13.800 Christ was not gonna come to restore 13:13.800 --> 13:15.280 a physical kingdom at that time 13:15.280 --> 13:17.100 but rather to die on the cross 13:17.640 --> 13:19.440 and to pay for all of our sins. 13:19.640 --> 13:21.900 And so there's the mystery of the gospel 13:22.400 --> 13:24.960 and then there's a mystery of the impact of that gospel 13:25.440 --> 13:27.040 that this is not the time 13:27.040 --> 13:29.400 when Christ is gonna rule and reign on the earth. 13:29.740 --> 13:31.380 That is when he returns. 13:31.680 --> 13:33.520 When he returns is when he's gonna rule and reign 13:33.520 --> 13:34.700 and set up that physical kingdom. 13:35.280 --> 13:37.040 But at the current moment, no, 13:37.180 --> 13:39.560 now we've entered into a spiritual kingdom 13:39.560 --> 13:42.060 where Gentiles are being brought in. 13:42.500 --> 13:45.080 Romans chapter 16 verse 25. 13:46.640 --> 13:49.440 Now to him that is of power to 13:56.560 which was kept secret since the world began 13:56.560 --> 13:57.980 but now is made manifest 13:58.550 --> 14:00.160 and by the scriptures of the prophets 14:00.160 --> 14:02.040 according to the commandment of the everlasting God 14:02.040 --> 14:06.640 may known to all nations for the obedience of faith. 14:07.180 --> 14:09.800 So notice again that he's talking about, 14:09.940 --> 14:11.340 hey, there was this mystery, 14:11.940 --> 14:13.120 there was a revelation of the mystery 14:13.120 --> 14:15.180 which kept secret since the world began 14:15.180 --> 14:18.640 but is now made manifest by the scriptures of the prophets 14:19.280 --> 14:21.240 according to the commandment of the everlasting God 14:21.240 --> 14:23.020 may known to all, notice this, 14:24.020 --> 14:25.780 nations for the obedience of the faith. 14:26.080 --> 14:28.880 So this also is kind of in similar fashion 14:29.400 --> 14:31.700 talking about, hey, this isn't just for you guys, 14:31.700 for the all nations, for the whole world 14:46.400 --> 14:48.540 when the promise was given to Abraham, 14:48.920 --> 14:51.180 it was not given just to Abraham and the Hebrews, 14:51.420 --> 14:54.040 it was given to all families of the earth 14:54.040 --> 14:56.900 that all the nations of the earth would be blessed 14:56.900 --> 14:58.920 through the preaching of the gospel 14:59.320 --> 15:01.660 and the preaching of the gospel saves all nations 15:01.660 --> 15:03.040 and every single person. 15:03.460 --> 15:06.140 And again, this is that mystery that's being revealed 15:06.620 --> 15:09.320 through the apostle Paul and the church at Ephesus 15:09.320 --> 15:11.100 and the church at Rome and all these churches 15:11.100 --> 15:14.080 that the apostle Paul is forming is illustrating 15:14.080 --> 15:16.360 that God really is saving the Gentiles, 15:16.740 --> 15:19.220 that this really is working, this is really fulfillment. 15:19.800 --> 15:23.240 And this is what I like is in this particular verse, 15:23.600 --> 15:26.200 notice he's saying in verse 26, 15:26.200 --> 15:30.320 but now it's made manifest by the scriptures of the prophets. 15:30.800 --> 15:34.880 So it's not like, oh, well, we have to get some new information 15:34.880 --> 15:36.760 of the Old Testament already had all that information. 15:37.480 --> 15:39.340 It's just now we're connecting talking about us 15:54.560 --> 15:56.060 and they were talking about us being represented. 15:56.400 --> 15:57.980 I mean, think about how much replacement theology 15:57.980 --> 16:00.460 is in the Old Testament that was not written for them 16:00.460 --> 16:02.900 at that time, it was written for the first century 16:02.900 --> 16:05.180 and beyond to bring up the concept, 16:05.320 --> 16:06.620 hey, you guys are being brought in 16:06.620 --> 16:08.100 just like the Bible is talking about 16:08.100 --> 16:09.980 and all these replacement stories 16:09.980 --> 16:14.600 like Esther replacing Vashti, what was the point of that? 16:15.080 --> 16:18.140 It's to foreshadow the Ephesians getting saved. 16:18.640 --> 16:20.840 It's to foreshadow the Romans getting saved. 16:21.180 --> 16:23.260 And now just like Esther replaced Vashti, 16:23.260 --> 16:26.260 now the church is basically taking on that role 16:26.940 --> 16:29.040 that the physical nation of Israel was playing 16:29.580 --> 16:31.580 and they're better and more loved 16:31.580 --> 16:34.040 and in all kinds of different things 16:34.040 --> 16:35.260 because the book of Esther 16:35.260 --> 16:37.280 is really an end times prophetic book too, 16:37.860 --> 16:39.920 but I believe it has dual layering 16:39.920 --> 16:41.740 as dual layering in the sense that, 16:41.900 --> 16:44.500 hey, they're the church and then it also has 16:44.500 --> 16:47.120 the end times double application that we could look at. 16:47.380 --> 16:49.460 But of course, the book of Esther, 16:49.520 --> 16:51.480 I do believe is legitimate scripture, 16:51.480 --> 16:52.820 go to Colossians chapter one, 16:53.560 --> 16:54.680 Colossians chapter number one, 16:54.780 --> 16:57.480 some people would put a question mark on the book of Esther, 16:57.620 --> 16:59.580 but when you really look at the pictures 16:59.580 --> 17:01.960 and the symbolism, it's clearly the word of God 17:02.420 --> 17:04.160 and it has clear power on every page. 17:05.520 --> 17:07.160 But think about the book of Esther, 17:07.340 --> 17:08.580 Esther is written at a time, 17:08.680 --> 17:12.380 it's kind of like the end of the history of the Jews 17:12.380 --> 17:14.000 and the nation of Israel. 17:14.900 --> 17:17.760 There's really not a lot of time from Esther to the end. 17:17.840 --> 17:19.060 It's kind of one of the last books, 17:19.080 --> 17:20.720 it's one of the later books in history. 17:21.270 --> 17:23.300 It's not really for that group of people, 17:23.440 --> 17:24.660 it's kind of a foreshadow, what? 17:25.240 --> 17:27.460 foreshadow this changing of the guard, 17:27.700 --> 17:28.540 the replacement theology, 17:29.260 --> 17:31.020 and then of course it's gonna be used again 17:31.020 --> 17:33.240 in a prophetic sense to tell us what's gonna happen 17:33.240 --> 17:34.820 in the end times with the Antichrist 17:34.820 --> 17:36.460 and Daniel 70th week. 17:36.960 --> 17:40.160 So of course, I like that what he's saying 17:40.160 --> 17:41.780 in Romans chapter 16 is, 17:42.300 --> 17:45.200 hey, right now we're understanding all these things 17:45.200 --> 17:46.840 because of what was written in the Old Testament 17:46.840 --> 17:48.020 or was written in the prophets. 17:48.720 --> 17:50.920 Just like when we go through the end times, 17:51.320 --> 17:53.560 we're gonna be pulling out verses from the Bible 17:54.060 --> 17:55.900 that were for that time specifically. 17:56.600 --> 17:58.260 And we're gonna be able to pull out understanding 17:58.260 --> 18:01.320 and wisdom and knowledge from the Old Testament 18:01.320 --> 18:03.980 that maybe wasn't really understood in times past 18:03.980 --> 18:06.520 like it is now as it's being rolled out. 18:07.240 --> 18:08.120 So sometimes people have, 18:08.720 --> 18:12.340 oh well what was the historic view of the end times 18:12.340 --> 18:13.420 and the rapture and stuff? 18:13.820 --> 18:15.640 Well maybe that's not necessarily the right question 18:16.160 --> 18:17.980 because just like the Bible is saying, 18:18.040 --> 18:21.300 hey, in other ages people didn't really understand 18:21.300 --> --> 18:31.200 and there's certain mysteries like the mystery of iniquity 18:31.720 --> 18:33.060 or the mystery of God 18:33.500 --> 18:36.920 that we will understand it in a unique way 18:36.920 --> 18:38.760 that people didn't understand in the past 18:39.220 --> 18:41.100 because it's actually playing out before our eyes. 18:41.400 --> 18:44.480 But again, we're not pulling it out from thin air. 18:44.480 --> 18:47.500 We're not pulling it out of a hat, a rabbit out of a hat. 18:47.660 --> 18:48.900 We're pulling it out of the Bible 18:49.400 --> 18:51.180 because it was in the scripture 19:24.620 to fulfill the word of God? 19:24.960 --> 19:27.060 Even the mystery which have been hid 19:27.700 --> 19:29.660 from ages and from generations 19:30.380 --> 19:34.020 but now is made manifest to his saints 19:34.020 --> 19:36.260 to whom God would make known what is the riches 19:36.260 --> 19:37.840 of the glory of this mystery 19:38.380 --> 19:41.860 among the Gentiles which is Christ in you 19:41.860 --> 19:43.100 the hope of glory. 19:43.480 --> 19:47.280 So notice what is the mystery that Christ is in the Gentiles 19:48.280 --> 19:49.500 but what does the Bible say? the last 500 years. 20:08.160 --> 20:10.320 Well, who gives a rip what that is 20:10.320 --> 20:12.400 because sometimes it's been hid. 20:12.900 --> 20:14.540 Sometimes it wasn't understood. 20:24.400 Passages like, hey, knowledge is gonna abound 20:24.880 --> 20:26.620 and people are gonna be running to and fro. 20:27.240 --> 20:31.180 Well, if we read that verse in the 1600s, 1700s 20:31.180 --> 20:33.260 we would think like, oh yeah, look, 20:33.380 --> 20:34.720 people are going on ships and stuff 20:35.220 --> 20:36.960 but now it's like people are going on airplanes. 20:37.440 --> 20:40.280 People are traveling in all kinds of unique ways 20:40.280 --> 20:41.380 that we've never seen before 20:41.940 --> 20:43.660 and so we have an even better understanding 20:43.660 --> 20:44.820 of people going to and fro. 20:45.620 --> 20:48.660 I mean, at one point, they used to have the Concorde 20:48.660 --> 20:52.220 which is flying like 2000, I think miles per hour. 20:53.080 --> 20:56.400 You could take a flight from America over into Europe 20:56.400 --> 20:57.740 and it'd be like an hour or two 20:58.320 --> 20:59.440 because they were flying at high speeds 20:59.440 --> 21:00.800 now they've shut down that program 21:01.400 --> 21:03.600 but who knows what new programs 21:03.600 --> 21:05.260 may be invented or brought up 21:05.260 --> 21:08.200 and while we think we understand right now 21:08.200 --> 21:09.840 it could even get more advanced. 21:10.940 --> 21:13.900 We have no idea what technology is gonna do 21:14.280 --> 21:16.320 and we don't know exactly what the timeline is 21:16.780 --> 21:19.720 but I would venture to say we should be willing 21:19.720 --> 21:23.040 to accept the idea that when we get to the end times 21:23.040 --> 21:25.940 people may not have actually understood things correctly 21:25.940 --> 21:26.520 until then. 21:26.900 --> 21:29.200 We may not actually have the right doctrine 21:29.200 --> 21:31.040 and so we should always be cautious 21:31.040 --> 21:34.620 about our views of these mysteries in the end times 21:34.620 --> 21:36.400 and be willing to adapt. 21:36.840 --> 21:38.860 But here's the thing, we wanna make sure anything we believe 21:38.860 --> 21:40.220 is based on what the scripture actually says. 21:41.040 --> 21:43.420 We're always rooted and grounded in what the scripture says 21:43.940 --> 21:45.980 but we can't always just say, 21:46.120 --> 21:48.660 well, this is what was historically understood 21:49.150 --> 21:50.660 so therefore it must be right. 21:51.200 --> 21:52.420 Isn't the Bible plainly saying, 21:52.580 --> 21:54.280 hey, this is something that nobody even understood 21:54.280 --> 21:58.220 or nobody knew for generations, for ages. 21:58.940 --> 22:02.500 So, oh well, we trust tradition. 22:02.500 --> 22:04.040 Well, we don't trust tradition, we trust the scripture. 22:04.840 --> 22:06.900 We trust the scripture over whatever your tradition is 22:06.900 --> 22:08.240 because you know what, tradition could be wrong 22:08.240 --> 22:10.020 and tradition could be wrong for a long time, 22:10.120 --> 22:11.260 people could misunderstand things, 22:11.420 --> 22:12.760 people could be wrong on things 22:12.760 --> 22:15.820 and so we wanna make sure that anything we believe 22:15.820 --> 22:17.140 is based on the Bible itself. 22:17.260 --> 22:18.460 Go back if you went to Ephesians three. 22:19.800 --> 22:22.580 So I just wanted to show it's not like one passage here. 22:22.800 --> 22:24.200 There's a lot of passages bringing up 22:24.200 --> 22:25.100 how the mystery was, 22:25.600 --> 22:26.860 the Gentiles that we grafted in, 22:27.140 --> 22:28.540 crisis in the Gentiles, 22:28.960 --> 22:31.060 that the gospel is going to all nations 22:31.940 --> 22:35.440 and what's interesting about the wording here in verse seven, 22:35.960 --> 22:39.240 the apostle Paul says that the gift of the grace 22:39.240 --> 22:43.300 of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power, 22:43.560 --> 22:46.260 effectual, what do we mean by effectual? 22:47.180 --> 22:48.780 Effectual, think about it as effective, 22:49.780 --> 22:52.800 meaning that what happened really happened. 22:52.880 --> 22:54.800 It was very effective what was happening 22:55.300 --> 22:57.360 because look, when God is working with you, 22:57.620 --> 22:58.940 it's gonna be effective. 22:59.600 --> 23:02.720 You know, we have the God of the universe on your side 23:02.720 --> 23:05.080 working with you, something's gonna happen. 23:05.540 --> 23:08.380 So I don't believe in the power of God 23:08.380 --> 23:10.960 and the work of God on someone's life 23:10.960 --> 23:12.660 and we can't see any results. 23:13.300 --> 23:16.180 No, when the apostle Paul has God working on him 23:16.180 --> 23:18.080 and through him, it's very effective. 23:18.540 --> 23:21.620 It's the effectual working of his power. 23:22.260 --> 23:23.300 God is powerful. 23:23.740 --> 23:25.420 So if God's working with someone, 23:25.980 --> 23:26.960 it's gonna be powerful. 23:27.520 --> 23:29.960 I do not believe that God is working through someone 23:29.960 --> 23:33.040 and it's ineffective, it's not happening, 23:33.280 --> 23:35.160 there's no power, there's no might. 23:35.660 --> 23:37.540 No, no, when God is working with someone 23:37.540 --> 23:39.900 or through someone, it's gonna be effective. 23:40.480 --> 23:42.380 And so when you're not being effective, 23:42.960 --> 23:44.300 this is what you have to ask yourself, 23:44.440 --> 23:46.260 am I really working with God? 23:46.540 --> 23:48.440 Is God really working with me? 23:49.060 --> 23:51.900 You know, if you're just preaching sermon after sermon 23:51.900 --> 23:55.940 and it's having no effect, nobody's lives are changed, 23:56.460 --> 23:58.140 nobody's resonating with the preaching, 23:58.880 --> 24:00.640 nobody's abiding by the preaching, 24:01.000 --> 24:01.720 you kinda have to wonder, 24:01.900 --> 24:03.960 is God's power working through that preaching? 24:05.340 --> 24:07.620 If your evangelism method, 24:08.020 --> 24:09.220 like you're trying to get people saved, 24:09.480 --> 24:11.980 if your evangelism method is not effective, 24:12.440 --> 24:14.520 then God is not working through you. 24:15.180 --> 24:16.920 Because let me explain something to you, 24:17.000 --> 24:19.640 there's an effectual working of his power. 24:20.280 --> 24:20.860 And you know what? 24:21.480 --> 24:24.800 It is real that God works through evangelism 24:24.800 --> 24:27.220 because we can go and knock on someone's door 24:27.220 --> 24:28.780 with our method of soul winning 24:28.780 --> 24:32.700 and take them from being 20, 25, 30 years of Catholic 24:32.700 --> 24:35.300 and turn them into a fundamental Baptist in 15 minutes. 24:35.480 --> 24:37.280 That's effectual working of his power. 24:39.180 --> 24:42.180 And look, you can see the power of the gospel 24:42.180 --> 24:45.420 when you walk up to people that are not interested, 24:45.720 --> 24:48.700 don't care, ready to walk away at a moment's notice, 24:49.060 --> 24:50.460 and in 10, 15 minutes, 24:50.640 --> 24:53.040 you can totally change their entire world view. 24:53.560 --> 24:55.660 You can bring a grown man to tears. 24:56.260 --> 24:58.360 You can change people's complete outlook. 24:58.620 --> 25:00.180 You can take them from gloom 25:00.180 --> 25:03.880 and turn them into gladness with the power of the gospel. 25:03.960 --> 25:04.880 Because let me tell you something, 25:05.000 --> 25:06.660 the gospel is effectual, 25:06.920 --> 25:09.100 the gospel is effective and it does something. 25:09.640 --> 25:11.860 And you know, all these other gimmicky methods, 25:12.440 --> 25:14.720 all this Ray Comfort style soul winning 25:14.720 --> 25:17.420 where they're just pestering people about being a sinner 25:17.420 --> 25:18.440 and when you're gonna penny or cents, 25:18.720 --> 25:19.480 it's not effective. 25:20.420 --> 25:22.700 You know, I know Ray Comfort is not of God, 25:22.700 --> 25:24.520 because this method is not effective. 25:25.000 --> 25:26.960 When's the last time you've ever seen him 25:26.960 --> 25:29.320 upload a video of a successful conversion? 25:30.620 --> 25:33.580 The guy just uploads just video after video 25:33.580 --> 25:34.960 of him getting no one saved. 25:35.460 --> 25:38.360 Just video after video, fail after fail, 25:38.540 --> 25:39.980 after fail, after fail. 25:40.520 --> 25:42.900 You'd think like, do you realize 25:42.900 --> 25:44.800 that you're failing every single time? 25:45.800 --> 25:48.160 And look, I get that we have examples 25:48.160 --> 25:49.420 of someone like Jeremiah, 25:50.020 --> 25:54.260 where hey, the whole world is so evil and so wicked 25:54.260 --> 25:56.440 that even the greatest preaching ever 25:57.360 --> 26:00.980 isn't really turning a lot of people back to the Lord. 26:01.460 --> 26:06.600 But it's still very effective because everybody's flipping out. 26:07.680 --> 26:10.640 I mean, it's one thing to not reach people, 26:10.940 --> 26:13.720 but if you're reaching everyone 26:13.720 --> 26:14.760 and they're not converting, 26:15.080 --> 26:17.940 that's still the working of God, right? 26:18.420 --> world 26:38.980 --> 26:40.100 preaching the word of God. 26:41.160 --> 26:43.220 He went everywhere to the uttermost parts 26:43.220 --> 26:44.760 of the earth preaching the word of God. 26:44.940 --> 26:45.700 That's effective. 26:46.660 --> 26:49.560 The guy that preached to everyone and to everywhere 26:49.560 --> 26:50.880 and everyone's hearing the message 26:50.880 --> 26:52.380 and they're getting so mad 26:52.380 --> 26:54.940 and everybody wants to attack them and persecute them. 26:54.980 --> 26:56.200 Well, then that's still effective. 26:57.080 --> 26:58.960 Look, getting the word
