--> 00:11.240 Now point one of the sermon is based on verse 10. 00:11.340 --> 00:13.220 The Bible says who can find a virtuous woman? 00:14.640 --> 00:18.640 Plainly the text is indicating that virtuous women are rare 00:19.120 --> 00:21.220 and that is not a common occurrence 00:21.620 --> 00:25.060 and yet there is a societal pressure to act as if 00:25.060 --> 00:27.720 all women are somehow virtuous 00:27.720 --> 00:30.060 and all women are good and kind-hearted 00:30.060 --> 00:31.080 and should be believed. 00:31.760 --> 00:34.260 There was a campaign several years ago 00:34.260 --> 00:36.380 or a few years ago really, not that long 00:36.380 --> 00:38.780 that was hashtag believe all women. 00:39.960 --> 00:43.560 In fact, there were several people in our government, 00:43.900 --> 00:47.300 representative Carolyn Maloney that said, quote, 00:48.000 --> 00:51.360 we stand with Dr. Christine Blazy Ford, Deborah Amirez 00:51.360 --> 00:55.420 and Julie Swetnick, hashtag believe all women. 00:56.340 --> 01:00.300 Republican Catherine Clark is funny, you know, 01:00.380 --> 01:01.760 or representative, sorry, she's a Democrat. 01:02.300 --> 01:05.300 Representative Catherine Clark, Democrat from Massachusetts 01:05.300 --> 01:10.040 said, quote, democracy in action, hashtag we believe 01:10.040 --> 01:12.780 Christine, hashtag believe all women. 01:13.740 --> 01:17.800 Another Senator, Democrat from Hawaii, Mazzie Hirano 01:18.280 --> 01:20.380 said during the hearing she said, quote, 01:20.840 --> 01:23.580 men need to just shut up and step up. 01:24.380 --> 01:27.380 Senator Kamala Harris said, quote, 01:27.600 --> 01:29.360 I believe you and I believe many Americans 01:29.360 --> 01:31.020 across this country believe you. 01:31.720 --> 01:33.960 Now, what's funny is that this has became 01:33.960 --> 01:37.580 kind of a national mantra for a lot of different people 01:37.580 --> 01:40.100 of this quote, just believe all women 01:40.560 --> 01:42.760 and that we should just trust all women 01:42.760 --> 01:45.820 and that women are good and by and large, 01:45.960 --> 01:48.300 whereas this is directly contrasted 01:48.300 --> 01:50.260 with the biblical narrative and the biblical text 01:50.260 --> 01:52.180 saying that virtuous women are rare. 01:52.940 --> 01:56.700 Not that they're the norm, not that virtuous women 01:56.700 --> 01:59.100 are what we see as the common experience, 01:59.540 --> 02:03.000 but rather virtuous women are not common, 02:03.240 --> 02:06.880 are not normal, are very hard to find. 02:07.280 --> 02:08.360 I mean, the text is just saying like, 02:08.460 --> 02:09.460 who can we even find it? 02:09.600 --> 02:11.680 Like, where can we even find this example? 02:12.160 --> 02:15.020 And then you have all of these people in our politics 02:15.020 --> 02:17.620 and our government just saying hashtag believe all women, 02:17.980 --> 02:20.900 which is nonsense and of course, you know, 02:20.900 --> 02:23.060 these people love to have their cake, you need it too, 02:23.280 --> 02:26.060 because whenever Amber Hurd and Johnny Depp 02:26.060 --> 02:27.700 went in this public hearing, 02:28.160 --> 02:30.520 then comedians like Chris Rock were saying, 02:30.900 --> 02:33.460 hashtag believe all women except Amber Hurd. 02:33.920 --> 02:35.460 And so it's like, you know, 02:35.600 --> 02:38.640 it's always just a fit whatever narrative they have 02:38.640 --> 02:42.120 at the time, but it's a really silly idea 02:42.680 --> 02:47.240 to try to act as if women are more believable than men. 02:48.160 --> 02:49.540 You know, I mean, and again, 02:49.540 --> 02:51.180 I'm not gonna sit here and say men 02:51.720 --> 02:53.220 are more trustworthy than women. 02:53.620 --> 02:55.800 I think that the Bible teaches that we should just have, 02:55.960 --> 02:58.620 you know, really kind of a skeptical view of humanity 02:59.220 --> 03:02.080 in general, and that specifically when it comes to women, 03:02.180 --> 03:04.580 the Bible does not teach that they're just more virtuous 03:04.580 --> 03:05.520 or better than men. 03:05.900 --> 03:07.420 The Bible does not teach that whatsoever. 03:07.940 --> 03:10.400 And so to then suggest hashtag believe all women, 03:10.780 --> 03:11.700 what is the implication? 03:12.160 --> 03:13.820 It's like women are more reliable 03:13.820 --> 03:14.940 in their testimony than men. 03:15.580 --> 03:16.540 This is not true. 03:17.050 --> 03:19.560 And the Bible does not support such an idea 03:20.050 --> 03:24.720 and we should not be prejudice against men for women. 03:24.900 --> 03:26.120 That is not a biblical narrative. 03:26.280 --> 03:27.080 It's not what the Bible teaches. 03:27.240 --> 03:28.620 Go to Ecclesiastes chapter seven, 03:28.740 --> 03:29.480 Ecclesiastes chapter seven. 03:29.740 --> 03:32.360 Now I'm not trying to create attention 03:32.360 --> 03:33.220 to say the opposite. 03:33.480 --> 03:35.940 I'm not trying to say women can never be trusted 03:35.940 --> 03:36.940 and men should be trusted. 03:37.300 --> 03:39.240 We should be skeptical of both, 03:39.480 --> 03:41.400 but we should have a healthy level 03:41.400 --> 03:42.600 of skepticism in this world. 03:42.940 --> 03:44.320 And what I find is, you know, 03:44.360 --> 03:46.000 the Bible says the simple believe with every word 03:46.000 --> 03:49.360 we need to have a healthy skepticism in life 03:49.360 --> 03:52.340 and not be trusting by and large. 03:52.600 --> 03:54.060 We should be skeptical of this world 03:54.060 --> 03:55.020 because this world is wicked. 03:55.460 --> 03:56.460 This world is very sinful. 03:56.680 --> 03:58.980 Our culture is very sinful and very wicked. 03:59.180 --> 04:01.480 And so we need to make sure that we're careful 04:01.480 --> 04:04.140 in who we're trusting, careful in who we're listening to. 04:04.500 --> 04:05.880 And the Bible has a lot of warnings 04:05.880 --> 04:07.440 about certain kinds of women. 04:08.080 --> 04:10.040 Of course, there are virtuous women in this world. 04:10.340 --> 04:12.220 I'm not saying that the virtuous women don't exist, 04:12.500 --> 04:14.780 but in the biblical text of Proverbs 31, 04:15.160 --> 04:17.600 the Bible says that her husband does safely trust in her. 04:17.860 --> 04:18.460 Isn't it interesting? 04:18.620 --> 04:21.120 She's married and she's married. 04:21.920 --> 04:24.100 And specifically, according to the text, 04:24.200 --> 04:26.400 she's in submission to her husband. 04:27.000 --> 04:28.700 And really that is the biblical models 04:28.700 --> 04:30.600 that women should just submit to their husband 04:30.600 --> 04:32.780 and we should have men leading women in general. 04:34.300 --> 04:36.680 And, you know, why should we not just believe all women? 04:36.920 --> 04:38.920 Well, number one, because it's just super rare. 04:39.200 --> 04:41.260 And here's another biblical text to prove, 04:41.480 --> 04:42.600 you know, some of these points. 04:42.600 --> 04:44.920 Look at verse number 26, 04:45.180 --> 04:47.100 and I find more bitter than death, the woman. 04:47.720 --> 04:50.960 Now, this is where some men, or women hating men 04:50.960 --> 04:53.060 will stop the verse, okay? 04:53.680 --> 04:56.360 It's not saying all women are bad, all right? 04:57.000 --> 04:58.300 It kind of sounds like it though, 04:58.540 --> 04:59.840 but it's not saying that. 05:00.200 --> 05:02.660 It says whose heart is snares and nets 05:02.660 --> 05:04.960 and her hands is bands who please of God 05:04.960 --> 05:06.020 shall escape from her, 05:06.340 --> 05:08.680 but the sinner shall be taken by her. 05:09.340 --> 05:14.060 I believe in context and comparing with other proverbial texts, 05:14.400 --> 05:19.740 this is talking about a woman that's laden with sins 05:19.740 --> 05:22.920 in a bedroom sense or in a fornication sense. 05:23.100 --> 05:24.300 So a woman that's permissive, 05:24.600 --> 05:27.640 a woman that's very loose is this type of woman 05:27.640 --> 05:29.300 that the Bible really warns about 05:29.700 --> 05:31.980 and how she's a snare and how she's a trap 05:31.980 --> 05:35.920 and she will not actually give you her heart 05:35.920 --> 05:37.340 even though she may flatter you 05:37.340 --> 05:39.360 and pretend like she wants to give you her heart. 05:39.620 --> 05:41.380 And the Bible is saying that the person 05:41.380 --> 05:43.120 that pleases God is gonna escape her. 05:43.700 --> 05:44.960 You know, how does that work? 05:45.500 --> 05:48.460 I don't think that this is really trying to say that, 05:48.780 --> 05:50.060 you know, you're just gonna magically 05:50.700 --> 05:52.180 not find the wrong woman. 05:52.680 --> 05:55.800 I think it's by studying the Bible as a young man 05:55.800 --> 05:58.600 and paying attention to the signs 05:58.600 --> 06:00.840 of a permissive woman versus a godly woman, 06:01.220 --> 06:02.700 you can avoid this type of woman. 06:02.800 --> 06:04.260 Through going through biblical directives, 06:04.380 --> 06:06.660 biblical principles, that's how you escape it. 06:06.660 --> 06:07.560 I don't think that it's just, 06:08.020 --> 06:09.220 you know, you're gonna go for this woman 06:09.220 --> 06:10.860 and God's gonna intervene magically. 06:11.340 --> 06:14.000 I think it's the Bible saying you follow biblical principles, 06:14.200 --> 06:15.340 you'll avoid this type of woman. 06:15.820 --> 06:17.300 You don't follow biblical principles. 06:17.640 --> 06:20.440 You'll end up getting taken away with the flattery, 06:20.620 --> 06:23.860 with the deceit, with just this bad stuff. 06:24.200 --> 06:26.360 And notice that the Bible almost is indicating 06:27.240 --> 06:31.400 that bad men, bad men are punished with a bad woman. 06:32.040 --> 06:33.580 I mean, isn't that what the Bible's saying here? 06:34.040 --> 06:37.540 It says, who so pleaseth God, shall escape from her, 06:38.060 --> 06:41.140 but the sinner shall be taken by her. 06:41.340 --> 06:44.680 It's almost saying like a bad guy will end up having 06:44.680 --> 06:47.000 this just like horrific wife potentially 06:47.560 --> 06:49.940 or a girlfriend or toxic relationship 06:49.940 --> 06:51.300 because he's a bad person. 06:51.700 --> 06:53.040 You know, it's like we can sit here 06:53.040 --> 06:54.840 and feel bad for quote Johnny Depp, 06:55.080 --> 06:57.460 but it's like was Johnny Depp looking for the right woman 06:57.460 --> 06:58.200 with Amber Heard? 06:59.540 --> 07:02.320 You know, it's like, oh, we can feel bad for Elon Musk, 07:02.320 --> 07:04.840 but is he really looking for the right woman 07:04.840 --> 07:07.440 when he gets entrapped with this like Jewish woman 07:07.440 --> 07:11.380 who ensnares him and gets pregnant by him 07:11.380 --> 07:13.500 and is like trying to sue him for all this money 07:13.500 --> 07:15.300 and just like some kind of an influencer? 07:15.740 --> 07:18.680 It's like, obviously he was finding the wrong women 07:18.680 --> 07:19.480 in the wrong place. 07:20.600 --> 07:23.020 And the Bible is saying like God's gonna punish people 07:23.020 --> 07:25.000 when they're looking for the wrong woman 07:25.000 --> 07:27.120 in the wrong place because it's rare 07:27.620 --> 07:29.600 to find the good woman, okay? 07:30.120 --> 07:33.620 And again, this is a bad person to be caught by. 07:33.980 --> 07:34.820 It says in verse 27, 07:34.940 --> 07:36.520 behold this have I found say the preacher 07:36.520 --> 07:39.440 counting one by one to find out the account 07:39.920 --> 07:42.100 which yet my soul seeketh but I find not 07:42.100 --> 07:44.660 one man among a thousand have I found 07:44.660 --> 07:47.940 but a woman among all those have I not found. 07:48.680 --> 07:51.920 Lo, this only have I found that God has made me an upright 07:52.420 --> 07:53.960 but they have sought out many inventions. 07:54.160 --> 07:57.380 So let's unpack this passage for a moment 07:57.380 --> 07:59.040 because this is a very important package here. 07:59.040 --> 08:01.860 Number one in verse 29, God is saying 08:02.380 --> 08:06.680 that he did not make men bad or women bad or anybody bad. 08:07.160 --> 08:08.500 God made man upright. 08:09.500 --> 08:12.960 So you can't say like, oh, well God just made women bad. 08:13.020 --> 08:13.380 False. 08:13.760 --> 08:15.040 God made women upright. 08:15.560 --> 08:16.940 God made man upright. 08:17.080 --> 08:20.040 God made everybody to be good and to do right 08:20.040 --> 08:21.680 and we all have the capability 08:22.160 --> 08:24.100 and the opportunity to do right 08:24.100 --> 08:27.460 but because of sinful natures that we have, 08:27.460 --> 08:31.240 we end up choosing selfish things and sinful things. 08:31.560 --> 08:32.240 That's what it's saying. 08:32.360 --> 08:33.480 They sought out many inventions. 08:33.740 --> 08:34.800 We're going after evil. 08:34.920 --> 08:36.320 We're coming up with bad ideas. 08:36.680 --> 08:39.920 You know, we can't blame all the evils of this world on God 08:39.920 --> 08:41.780 because God made man upright 08:41.780 --> 08:44.680 but man ended up coming up with bad ideas 08:44.680 --> 08:47.640 and venting all kinds of evils and doing wrong. 08:48.160 --> 08:51.280 So God gives us all the opportunity to do right. 08:51.680 --> 08:54.860 We of our own selfish ambition and nature 08:54.860 --> 08:56.940 have sought out wicked devices 08:57.440 --> 09:00.020 but we also want to at least consider 09:00.460 --> 09:01.760 what the guy is saying here. 09:02.280 --> 09:04.600 He's saying he like, did this audit? 09:05.220 --> 09:06.840 Did this like human audit? 09:07.060 --> 09:09.640 He's like an anthropologist studying humanity 09:09.640 --> 09:11.580 and trying to understand the gender 09:11.580 --> 09:13.540 and trying to understand men and women 09:13.540 --> 09:17.300 and he's like, I decided to get my Excel spreadsheet out 09:17.880 --> 09:19.660 and I'm listing names 09:19.660 --> 09:22.060 and I'm putting in data and stats 09:22.060 --> 09:23.520 and I'm charting 09:23.520 --> 09:24.780 because I mean, think what he's saying. 09:24.900 --> 09:27.500 He's like, I was counting one by one 09:28.000 --> 09:29.160 to find out the account. 09:29.220 --> 09:30.000 This is an accountant. 09:30.580 --> 09:33.600 So he's like, here's a name and here's a name 09:33.600 --> 09:34.540 and here's this person. 09:34.620 --> 09:36.360 I'm counting them one by one. 09:36.360 --> 09:37.340 So that's diligent. 09:37.820 --> 09:40.980 And he's like, I couldn't find a virtuous woman. 09:41.820 --> 09:43.520 Is what he's saying out of a thousand. 09:44.460 --> 09:46.740 So it's like, all right, here's the list 09:46.740 --> 09:50.560 of every single person in our district, our area, 09:50.800 --> 09:52.000 our kingdom or whatever. 09:52.000 --> 09:54.060 And he's just like, he's just got thousands, 09:54.260 --> 09:56.260 imagine he just has thousands of names, 09:56.660 --> 09:58.820 just thousands and thousands of names of people. 09:59.400 --> 10:01.620 And he's just like, all right, we have, 10:01.860 --> 10:03.560 and again, just for sake of argument, 10:03.760 --> 10:04.420 we'll throw some numbers. 10:04.520 --> 10:05.780 He's like, I have 100,000 men 10:06.420 --> 10:09.220 and he's like, here's the guys that I think are virtuous. 10:09.800 --> 10:12.060 And he's like, it's about a thousand to one ratio. 10:12.640 --> 10:14.040 Like he's like, he plugged it in 10:14.040 --> 10:15.540 and he put it in the calculator 10:15.540 --> 10:18.560 and it's like 0.1% of the men. 10:18.560 --> 10:21.700 And he's like, on the women category, it was less. 10:22.620 --> 10:24.500 And it's not saying that it doesn't exist. 10:24.720 --> 10:27.280 He's just saying even one out of a thousand. 10:27.420 --> 10:30.280 Now again, I'm not saying that this is reflective of today. 10:30.540 --> 10:31.200 I don't even know. 10:31.420 --> 10:33.640 But he is putting an actual number to it. 10:33.900 --> 10:35.400 He is saying statistically, 10:36.000 --> 10:38.800 he can't even find one out of a thousand women 10:38.800 --> 10:39.520 that are virtuous. 10:40.020 --> 10:43.180 Is what he's saying, that would be an upright woman 10:43.180 --> 10:44.240 that's seeking the Lord. 10:44.640 --> 10:47.660 And again, he then, what would be the accusation? 10:48.360 --> 10:48.860 Think about it. 10:48.920 --> 10:51.880 If you said, I've studied, I've done the measurements, 10:52.320 --> 10:54.580 I've calculated, I did a huge sample 10:55.160 --> 10:57.740 and statistically, not even one out of a thousand women 10:57.740 --> 10:59.740 is a virtuous woman, then what would be the implication? 10:59.960 --> 11:01.860 Well, God, why did you make women so bad? 11:02.380 --> 11:04.320 But then he clarifies and says, no, no, no, no, no. 11:04.660 --> 11:05.980 God made them upright. 11:06.500 --> 11:08.400 God gave them the opportunity to do right. 11:08.600 --> 11:10.220 God didn't do anything wrong here. 11:10.720 --> 11:12.100 They sought out many inventions. 11:12.800 --> 11:15.720 God made them perfect in the garden. 11:16.180 --> 11:17.380 God made them male and female. 11:17.760 --> 11:19.780 And he said everything he created was very good. 11:20.240 --> 11:22.400 Yet the woman was deceived. 11:22.740 --> 11:25.280 The woman went after the advice of the serpent. 11:25.680 --> 11:27.300 She took of that forbidden fruit. 11:27.480 --> 11:29.860 She did that of her own volition, of her own accord. 11:30.540 --> 11:34.180 And so, what is the Bible painting this picture though? 11:34.640 --> 11:36.700 Why would I say hashtag believe all women 11:36.700 --> 11:39.180 when one out of a thousand isn't even virtuous? 11:40.020 --> 11:41.900 I mean, you can't even find one out of a thousand 11:41.900 --> 11:42.480 statistically. 11:43.540 --> 11:47.000 And again, these numbers don't necessarily 11:47.500 --> 11:50.560 seem to be that off from what we even see in the world today. 11:51.060 --> 11:53.360 And sorry to wake you up to reality, 11:53.560 --> 11:55.080 but that is what the biblical text is saying. 11:55.500 --> 11:59.960 And we see even similar parallels in our society today. 12:00.480 --> 12:02.140 And so, we should be very careful 12:02.660 --> 12:04.300 when we have these ideas of just quote, 12:04.540 --> 12:06.520 believe all people, when the Bible's saying, 12:06.560 --> 12:09.000 man, it's statistically a train wreck. 12:09.760 --> 12:11.880 Now I wanna go to Ephesians chapter five, 12:11.880 --> 12:13.280 go to Ephesians chapter number five. 12:13.960 --> 12:20.500 So then, if women are, by and large, not that virtuous 12:20.500 --> 12:24.660 and having this particular statement 12:24.660 --> 12:27.740 being made about them, what should women do then? 12:28.660 --> 12:30.360 I mean, this is gonna affect most people. 12:30.520 --> 12:31.320 It's like, you know what they should do? 12:31.400 --> 12:32.820 They should get married and submit to their husband. 12:33.620 --> 12:34.400 That's what they should do. 12:35.040 --> 12:38.340 Ephesians chapter five, look at verse number 22, 12:39.400 --> 12:43.100 Wives, submitting yourselves unto your own husbands 12:43.100 --> 12:45.660 as unto the Lord, for the husband is the head of the wife, 12:45.940 --> 12:47.520 even as Christ is the head of the church 12:47.520 --> 12:49.000 and he's the savior of the body. 12:49.540 --> 12:52.180 Therefore, as the church is subject unto Christ, 12:52.680 --> 12:55.600 so let the wise be to their own husbands in everything. 12:56.240 --> 12:58.760 You know, the Bible says from a biblical default, 12:59.060 --> 13:02.220 women are just to submit and do whatever their husband says, 13:02.760 --> 13:05.180 not believe all women, what it should be, 13:05.480 --> 13:06.840 women should submit to their husband. 13:07.960 --> 13:09.300 That's the biblical model. 13:09.740 --> 13:11.640 That's how we should actually view society. 13:12.320 --> 13:14.040 Look at verse Timothy chapter two 13:14.040 --> 13:15.200 and we'll probably come back to this 13:15.200 --> 13:16.300 for a different point as well, 13:16.560 --> 13:20.080 but there's no harm in repeating myself this morning. 13:20.540 --> 13:22.320 For you it is safe, all right? 13:22.640 --> 13:23.660 We don't wanna turn into Mexico. 13:23.840 --> 13:25.480 Did you hear the testimony about Mexico? 13:26.460 --> 13:26.780 Man. 13:28.260 --> 13:30.760 First Timothy chapter two, look at verse 11, 13:30.920 --> 13:35.940 let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 13:36.460 --> 13:38.060 But I suffer not a woman to teach, 13:38.140 --> 13:39.160 nor you serve authority over the man, 13:39.240 --> 13:39.880 but to be in silence. 13:40.040 --> 13:42.460 For Adam was first formed, then Eve, 13:42.840 --> 13:44.540 and Adam was not deceived, 13:45.020 --> 13:49.060 but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. 13:49.640 --> 13:52.180 The Bible is saying the woman transgressed through deception. 13:52.440 --> 13:54.880 She was deceived and she transgressed. 13:55.300 --> 13:57.460 And so what is the point though, 13:57.940 --> 14:00.120 what is the bigger point that's being made? 14:00.660 --> 14:03.660 Number one in verse 11, a subjection, 14:03.660 --> 14:05.440 re-emphasize in verse number 12 14:05.440 --> 14:07.840 that she's not to use serp authority. 14:08.340 --> 14:10.320 That's what subjection means. 14:10.600 --> 14:11.980 And then the Bible says why? 14:12.640 --> 14:15.500 Why is it that a woman would not be in charge? 14:15.840 --> 14:18.460 Why is it that a woman should not use serp authority? 14:18.720 --> 14:20.460 Why is it that the biblical order 14:20.460 --> 14:21.720 is that a man and then a woman? 14:22.000 --> 14:23.460 And then it gives a specific reason. 14:23.580 --> 14:26.480 Verse 13, because she was formed second 14:26.480 --> 14:28.880 and then another reason is because 14:28.880 --> 14:31.420 she was deceived and Adam was not, okay? 14:31.900 --> 14:33.620 That's just what the Bible clearly says. 14:34.440 --> 14:37.080 And again, of course, in this sermon, 14:37.460 --> 14:38.700 I'm pointing out that number one, 14:38.840 --> 14:40.740 the Bible teaches that it's rare 14:40.740 --> 14:41.980 to find a virtuous woman. 14:42.700 --> 14:44.160 It's rare to find this woman 14:44.160 --> 14:47.060 and so therefore women should submit to their husbands. 14:47.640 --> 14:48.480 That is what the Bible teaches. 14:48.620 --> 14:50.740 Go back to Proverbs, Proverbs chapter five. 14:52.980 --> 14:55.420 And we need to make sure that we understand 14:56.120 --> 14:58.240 that God is giving us instructions 14:58.240 --> 15:01.020 that permeate all timelines. 15:02.240 --> 15:04.680 This isn't like, oh, this used to be a problem back then 15:04.680 --> 15:07.500 or culturally, we have to understand this. 15:07.860 --> 15:09.680 No, culturally,
