letters and sent to Samaria 01:17.940 --> 01:20.520 under the rulers of Jezreel to the elders 01:20.520 --> 01:23.240 and to them that brought up Ahab's children saying, 01:23.240 --> 01:25.600 now as soon as this letter come into you, 01:26.040 --> 01:28.420 seeing your master's sons are with you 01:28.420 --> 01:32.940 and there are with you chariots and horses, 01:33.280 --> 01:34.960 a fence get to the end of the chapter, 02:34.480 --> 02:37.180 what we see though is him just compromising 02:37.180 --> 02:41.320 in a huge way and just totally failing 02:41.980 --> 02:42.920 as a king of Israel. 02:43.040 --> 02:46.820 So he does a great job at just destroying the enemies 02:46.820 --> 02:48.940 and wiping out the house of Ahab, 02:48.940 --> 02:50.680 wiping out Baal worship, 02:50.940 --> 02:53.460 but when it comes to actually doing something positive 02:53.880 --> 02:54.980 and leading the nation, 02:55.180 --> 02:57.940 he's a complete and utter failure 02:57.940 --> main point that Jehu is making here 11:00.520 --> 11:03.360 is he's saying, look, this is not my personal vendetta. 11:03.700 --> 11:05.760 This is not my personal agenda. 11:06.200 --> 11:09.160 This is not me just kind of taking this upon myself 11:09.160 --> 11:10.880 and I'm just taking revenge 11:10.880 --> 11:12.700 and I'm just taking over the kingdom 11:12.700 --> 11:14.020 and I'm just killing everybody. 11:14.480 --> 11:17.360 He's saying, look folks, this is a force of nature. 11:17.960 --> 11:20.860 This is God's word being fulfilled. 11:21.420 --> 11:23.720 This is the judgment of the Lord. 11:57.700 --> 11:59.380 He says, it's like when you're running, 11:59.500 --> 12:01.020 and I'm paraphrasing, but he says, 12:01.120 --> 12:03.020 it's like you're running from a bear 12:03.020 --> 12:04.860 and you run into the house and shut the door 12:04.860 --> 12:07.600 and then the serpent bites you or whatever. 12:07.820 --> 12:09.380 Or you go down into the bottom of not planning to go become king. 12:46.640 --> 12:48.700 He didn't have the idea to kill Jehoram, 12:49.180 --> 12:51.780 but rather it was Elisha's messenger. 12:52.020 --> 12:53.720 Elisha sent one of the sons of the prophet 12:53.720 --> 12:56.120 that came and anointed him and said, 12:56.180 --> 12:58.300 thus saith the Lord, you're gonna be king of Israel 12:58.860 --> 12:59.360 and all that. 12:59.480 --> 13:01.400 This is all from the mouth of the Lord. 13:01.840 --> 13:02.500 He's saying, look, 13:02.620 --> 13:04.520 I'm not the only one fulfilling prophecy here. 13:04.660 --> of saying, 13:18.420 --> 13:21.000 hey, you guys are just as guilty as me now. 13:21.300 --> 13:23.940 We're all kind of in for a penny, in for a pound. 13:24.220 --> 13:26.120 And he's trying to kind of get them to see 13:26.120 --> 13:28.620 that, hey, you guys are in this with me now, 13:28.760 --> 13:29.880 because you guys have done this. 13:29.960 --> 13:31.060 There's no going back from 20:07.240 about whether they think that someone is saved or unsaved. 20:07.460 --> 20:08.260 Here's the thing, who cares? 20:09.140 --> 20:10.480 If someone's thrown out of the church, 20:11.000 --> 20:13.180 it doesn't matter whether they're actually a heathen 20:13.180 --> 20:14.300 because the Bible just says 20:14.300 --> 20:15.820 they're supposed to be unto us as a heathen. 20:16.320 --> 20:18.760 So why would I sit around trying to figure out 20:18.760 --> 20:20.300 whether they're saved or not saved? 20:20.720 --> 20:23.220 I don't care, a person can be saved, 20:23.600 --> 20:58.460 I can't even count over the last 21 years of pastoring. 20:59.040 --> 21:03.100 Here's the thing, that people who are not right with God, 21:03.460 --> 21:04.420 even if they're saved, 21:04.580 --> 21:06.420 even if they're a born-again child of God, 21:07.100 --> 21:08.560 if they're not walking in the spirit, 21:08.620 --> 21:09.720 but they're walking in the flesh, 21:09.820 --> 21:10.660 if they're backslidden, 21:11.160 --> 21:14.820 they can be every bit as wicked as unsaved people. 21:15.360 --> 21:15.800 Why? 21:16.120 --> 21:18.760 Because it's impossible to reform the old man. 21:19.320 --> 21:21.700 The old man cannot be reformed, 21:21.700 --> 21:23.700 the flesh cannot be reformed. 21:23.780 --> 21:25.680 That's why the Bible says the carnal mind 21:25.680 --> put on the new man, walk in the spirit, 21:45.480 --> 21:46.640 don't fulfill the less the flesh. 21:46.960 --> 21:50.280 The flesh is never gonna stop having the wrong appetites. 21:50.480 --> 21:52.640 It's never gonna stop having the wrong attitude. 21:53.020 --> 21:55.140 It's never gonna stop wanting to sin. 21:55.480 --> 21:57.780 That's why you have to crucify the flesh 21:57.780 --> believes on the Lord Jesus Christ, 22:28.940 --> 22:29.920 calls upon the name of the Lord. 22:30.460 --> 22:33.120 Let's just say that person never goes to church, 22:33.820 --> 22:38.580 never gets baptized, never reads their Bible, never prays. 22:38.600 --> 22:39.980 You know what, they're probably gonna act 22:39.980 --> 22:41.240 a lot like an unsaved person. 22:41.700 --> 22:43.300 And then people will look at that person and say, 22:43.360 --> 22:44.440 oh, this person's not saved, 22:44.600 --> 22:45.700 look at the way they're living, but hold up. 22:46.660 --> 22:47.740 Could they still be saved? 22:48.480 --> 22:50.600 Yeah, because what does the Bible say in Romans 4-5? 22:50.940 --> 22:52.240 But to him that work could not, 22:52.820 --> 22:55.460 but believe it on him that justified the ungodly, 22:55.800 --> 22:57.640 his faith is counted for righteousness, 22:58.040 --> 23:00.960 even as David also described with the blessedness 23:00.960 --> 23:05.360 of the man unto whom God imputed righteousness without works. 23:05.900 --> 23:08.460 Saying, blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven 23:08.460 --> 23:09.580 and whose sins are covered, 23:09.980 --> 23:12.260 blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. 23:12.580 --> 23:15.640 You could have a person that worketh not, but he believes. 23:16.540 --> 23:17.820 His faith is counted for are wood, hay, and stubble 23:36.340 --> 23:37.980 and all your works are trash 23:37.980 --> 23:39.720 and all your works are burned up, 23:39.760 --> 23:44.020 it says, yet he himself shall be they're gonna be just like unsaved people. 24:12.260 --> 24:14.200 They're gonna be just like they were before they were saved. 24:14.780 --> 24:17.040 And look, we also have many testimonies --> 24:43.340 and all of a sudden, bam, they're getting baptized, 24:44.180 --> 24:46.340 they're reading their Bible, they're praying, 24:46.860 --> 24:49.220 they're going soul-winning, they're singing hymns, 24:49.340 --> 24:50.660 they're getting sin out of their life 24:50.660 --> 24:53.080 and then all of a sudden there's a dramatic change, 24:53.080 --> 24:56.380 but they actually got saved like 15 years earlier 24:56.380 --> 24:58.180 or five years earlier, 10 years earlier, 24:58.440 --> 25:00.220 but you didn't see the dramatic change 25:00.220 --> 25:01.720 until they start putting on the new man, 25:01.840 --> 25:04.500 putting on the Lord Jesus Christ, walking in the Spirit. 25:05.000 --> 25:07.060 And so we don't wanna get that wrong about salvation. 25:07.280 --> 25:10.060 Salvation is a free gift, it's by grace through faith, 25:10.240 --> 25:11.800 it's not of work, listen to me mention both, 25:12.120 --> 25:13.480 you don't do works to get saved, 25:13.680 --> 25:15.280 you don't do works to stay saved, 25:15.560 --> 25:17.240 you don't have to do works to prove to God 25:17.240 --> 25:19.620 that you're saved, to prove to yourself that you're saved. it, 26:07.040 --> 26:08.400 they're sorry, they wanna get help, 26:08.500 --> 26:10.340 they wanna change, we're not gonna throw that person out 26:10.340 --> 26:13.380 if the person is repentant and getting it right. 26:16.520 --> 26:19.500 But the people that are unrepentant, they're out 26:19.500 --> 26:22.340 and they should be treated as heathens and they're wicked 26:22.340 --> 26:23.780 and we should not even eat with them, 26:23.820 --> 26:24.700 that's what the Bible says. 26:26.340 --> 26:27.980 You know, and it's amazing to me 26:27.980 --> 26:30.720 how people struggle with that,
