00:44.980 --> 00:47.980 is often doing something that other people are not doing. 00:48.760 --> 00:51.720 You know, to be an example is not following 00:51.720 --> 00:53.500 because you're really more of a follower 00:53.500 --> 00:55.760 than setting an example, being a leader. 00:55.760 --> 00:59.360 So I really look at this passage as a commandment 00:59.360 --> 01:01.800 to be a leader, to do things that other people 01:01.800 --> 01:06.380 are not doing and to set yourself apart and doing good. 01:06.960 --> 01:09.300 It's very easy to set yourself apart and doing evil, 01:09.840 --> 01:13.160 but it's much more difficult to be a good example 01:13.160 --> 01:16.340 and to do what's right, to oppose evil, 01:16.520 --> 01:20.040 to oppose wickedness, to not necessarily go with the crowd 01:20.040 --> 01:22.180 or go with the stream, go with the flow, 01:22.340 --> 01:24.800 but rather to set a good example and be different. 01:24.800 --> 01:30.280 And in this world, unfortunately, evil is just abounding. 01:30.960 --> 01:33.760 The Bible says that the whole world lies in darkness. 01:34.280 --> 01:36.440 And so unfortunately we just see 01:36.440 --> 01:39.040 just so much corruption in our government. 01:39.500 --> 01:41.400 We see so much corruption in the world. 01:41.700 --> 01:44.860 We just see so many evildoers and so many bad things. 01:45.320 --> 01:47.040 And you kind of sometimes get 01:47.040 --> 01:49.140 what I would call blackpilled on humanity 01:49.140 --> 01:51.360 or you kind of lose faith and humanity as a whole. 01:52.000 --> things that he says 03:12.700 --> 03:13.720 is he's a good example. 03:14.180 --> 03:15.180 Preaching the right things, 03:15.320 --> 03:16.180 preaching the right doctrines, 03:16.280 --> 03:18.020 preaching the word of God, faithfully. 03:18.300 --> 03:20.240 In conversation, this is typically what we think 03:20.240 --> 03:23.140 of as lifestyle, not necessarily your words, 03:23.220 --> 03:24.880 but really just the manner of life, 03:25.060 --> 03:26.920 how you carry yourself, the decisions that you're making. 03:27.620 --> 03:28.920 In charity, this is your love. 03:29.240 --> Christians astray 05:15.460 --> 05:17.240 into believing work salvation, 05:17.760 --> 05:19.880 believing and following the commandments to get to heaven. 05:20.340 --> 05:23.440 You know, their judicial system that is corrupted 05:23.900 --> 05:25.220 where they're hypocrites 05:25.220 --> 05:27.220 and they have all these man-made traditions 05:27.220 --> 05:28.820 that go against the 13:05.660 to whatever pastor's shell he does, right? 13:06.180 --> 13:08.340 But in some cases many people 13:08.340 --> 13:10.200 won't even try to go above that anyways. 13:10.680 --> 13:12.800 So if the pastor's setting a really low example, 13:13.200 --> 13:15.180 well then it's just not going to challenge the congregation. 13:15.580 --> 13:17.300 And so it's important for the pastor,
