that we do here this day, 00:15.140 --> 00:18.760 every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes. 00:18.960 --> 00:20.220 So the law of God says, hey, 00:20.600 --> 00:24.040 do not just go through life doing whatever is right 00:24.040 --> 00:25.040 in your own eyes. 00:25.160 --> 00:27.480 We as a church, we as a congregation, 00:27.480 --> 00:30.040 we're not just gonna do whatever is right 00:30.040 --> 00:31.560 in our own eyes, right? 00:31.940 --> 00:34.380 God is the one who determines what is right and wrong, 00:34.700 --> 00:37.320 and more specifically, it is the word of God 00:37.320 --> 00:39.540 that spells out right and wrong, 00:39.720 --> 00:41.560 not just what we think is right 00:41.560 --> 00:43.800 or what we feel is right. 00:44.140 --> 00:46.080 Of course, famously in the book of Judges, 00:46.160 --> 00:48.100 we have this statement that comes up over and over again 00:48.100 --> 00:49.980 in the end part of Judges 00:49.980 --> 00:52.600 where we just have horrific things going on. 00:52.600 --> 00:57.500 And really, there's one case of just absurd idolatry, 00:57.640 --> 01:02.900 just outrageously unbiblical, ungodly idolatry, 01:03.240 --> 01:07.060 kind of just showing the total disregard for God's law 01:07.060 --> 01:08.940 with regard to spiritual things, right? 01:09.380 --> 01:11.540 Then you have another story at the end of the book of Judges 01:11.540 --> 01:14.380 showing just the most outrageous violation 01:14.920 --> 01:16.120 of people physically, 01:16.120 --> 01:19.140 where you have the concubine that ends up getting 01:19.140 --> 01:22.780 violated and killed and so forth by sodomites. 01:23.300 --> 01:24.720 And so it's like you have these two examples 01:25.300 --> 01:26.500 at the end of the book of Judges, 01:26.700 --> 01:29.020 one having to do with man's relationship with God 01:29.500 --> 01:31.260 and one having to do with man's relationship 01:31.260 --> 01:32.280 with his fellow man. 01:32.520 --> 01:34.620 And both of them, it says of it, 01:34.980 --> 01:37.120 in those days there was no king in Israel, 01:37.440 --> 01:40.340 but every man did that which was right in his own eyes. 01:40.480 --> 01:43.020 So when we do what's right in our own eyes, 01:43.100 --> 01:46.700 when we just follow our heart and just trust our instinct 01:46.700 --> 01:48.600 instead of going to the word of God, 01:48.600 --> 01:52.960 we're going to end up violating God's law spiritually. 01:53.600 --> 01:55.760 And also we're going to end up violating our fellow man 01:55.760 --> 01:57.420 and harming the people around us. 01:57.580 --> 01:59.720 And that's what we're going to see tonight in the sermon. 02:00.460 --> 02:02.820 And so in those days there was no king in Israel, 02:03.400 02:18.500 --> 02:20.880 no matter how evil or sick they are, 02:20.940 --> 02:22.280 they think like, oh, well, 02:22.320 --> 02:24.100 this is what I'm supposed to be doing. 02:24.180 --> 02:25.140 I'm doing the right thing. 02:25.600 --> 02:27.020 You know, and I brought up this example before, 02:27.180 --> 02:30.020 I just brought it up recently in a sermon, 02:30.400 --> 02:33.500 but you know, the suicide bombers over in Israel, right? 02:33.660 --> 02:36.180 You'll have these Muslim jihadists over there. 02:36.420 --> 02:38.500 And look, I'm not for the Jewish state, 02:38.640 --> 02:40.700 I'm not for Israel, I'm not for the Jews, 02:40.860 --> 02:42.940 I'm not for Judaism, but what you'll have 02:42.940 --> 02:44.880 is all these Muslim extremists 02:44.880 --> 02:47.980 that will literally just get on a bus in the morning 02:47.980 --> 02:52.060 where men, women, and children are on their way to school, 02:52.500 --> 02:55.620 on their way to work, and they'll just 03:17.480 son, I'm so proud of you, you're such a good boy. 03:17.960 --> 03:21.100 Mommy is so proud, she sends him out the door 03:21.100 --> 03:25.400 to go blow up a bunch of innocent people, okay? 03:25.900 --> 03:26.360 But why? 03:26.520 --> 03:29.100 Because he thinks that this is what is right, 03:29.320 --> 03:32.480 because he's following a sick twisted evil religion 03:32.480 --> 04:51.200 But he that hearkenedeth unto counsel is wise. 04:51.380 --> 04:53.460 He's saying, look, you've gotta sometimes listen 04:53.460 --> 04:55.720 to other people and most importantly, 04:55.860 --> 04:56.720 you gotta listen to the Lord. 04:57.300 --> 04:59.700 Because when it says whoso hearkened unto counsel 04:59.700 --> 05:01.560 is wise, yeah, you could get counsel 05:01.560 --> 05:04.300 from other godly Christians and good people 05:04.300 --> 05:06.300 who know the Bible, but at the end of the day, 05:06.340 --> 05:08.200 there's also just the counsel of the Lord. 05:08.740 --> 05:10.280 What is the Lord counsel in his word? 05:10.380 --> 05:11.840 Now you're there in Psalm 33, hopefully, 05:12.060 --> 05:13.120 that's where we started the service. 05:13.640 --> 05:15.280 Psalm 33, verse 10 says this, 05:15.460 --> 05:19.100 the Lord bringeth the counsel of the heathen to not. 05:19.940 --> 05:21.840 Right, so whatever their stupid advice 05:21.840 --> 05:24.460 that they give you, God's gonna bring that to nothing. 05:24.860 --> 05:27.600 He makeeth the devices of the people of none effect, 05:27.860 --> 05:31.560 the counsel of the Lord standeth forever 05:32.020 --> 05:35.200 the thoughts of his heart to all generations. 05:35.580 --> 05:38.280 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord 05:38.280 --> 05:42.160 and the people whom he hath chosen for his inheritance. 05:42.380 --> 05:45.700 Notice how God's counsel stands unto all generations, 05:45.840 --> 05:49.480 meaning that God has the same advice for me in 2026 05:49.480 --> 05:53.180 that he had for my dad back in the 70s 05:53.180 --> 05:56.200 or my grandpa back in the 40s and 50s or whatever. 05:56.200 --> 06:00.340 And it's the same every single generation, 06:00.800 --> 06:02.340 God's word is still saying the same thing. 06:02.800 --> 06:05.920 Although, culture can dramatically swing 06:05.920 --> 06:09.200 one way or the other, where people are super strict folks. 06:17.740 --> 06:19.640 But the Bible says the counsel of the Lord 06:19.640 --> 06:24.540 standeth forever his thoughts to all generations. 06:25.380 --> 06:28.340 And so, bless is the nation chapter 19, and while you're turned 06:36.000 --> 06:37.380 to Proverbs 19, I'm gonna read for you 06:37.380 --> 06:38.840 from Jeremiah chapter 23. 06:40.020 --> 06:42.060 Actually, turn to Proverbs 19 06:42.060 --> 06:44.780 and then turn to Proverbs, or that, Jeremiah 23. 06:44.880 --> 06:46.920 I want you to look at both, Proverbs 19 06:46.920 --> 06:48.920 and then we're gonna go to Jeremiah 23. 06:50.520 --> 06:52.640 But we're talking about the counsel of the Lord. 06:53.100 --> 06:56.200 It says in Proverbs 19, 20, here counsel 06:56.760 --> 07:00.240 and receive instruction that thou mayest be wise 07:00.240 --> 07:01.320 in thy latter end. 07:01.860 --> 07:03.740 There are many devices in a man's heart. 07:04.100 --> 07:06.400 Nevertheless, the counsel of the Lord, 07:07.100 --> 07:08.760 that shall stand, right? 07:08.900 --> 07:09.360 And you know what? 07:09.560 --> 07:10.740 This right here is a rock. 07:11.160 --> 07:12.880 It was here before I was born. 07:13.100 --> make you vain. 07:47.280 --> 07:49.480 They speak a vision of their own heart, 07:49.560 --> 07:50.740 not out of the mouth of the Lord. 07:51.140 --> 07:53.180 They say still unto them that despise me. 07:53.660 --> 07:55.860 The Lord has said, you shall have peace, right? 07:56.200 --> 07:58.320 So people that just totally despise God, 07:58.840 --> 08:00.980 hate the Lord, don't care what the Bible says, 08:01.500 --> 08:02.420 they just tell those people, 08:02.600 --> 08:04.820 oh man, it's gonna be great, you're fine. 08:05.300 --> 08:06.200 You'll have peace. 08:06.620 --> 08:07.740 started going to church 09:27.100 --> 09:28.540 and soul win and do good, 09:28.760 --> 09:30.000 it's like my life's gotten harder. 09:30.620 --> 09:31.480 Things are getting worse. 09:31.860 --> 09:35.560 The problem is that these things happen on a delay 09:35.560 --> 09:37.220 and so it says here, 09:37.220 --> 09:38.720 in the latter days, 09:38.860 --> 09:40.000 ye shall consider it perfectly. 09:40.260 --> 09:42.340 So it's like, yeah, God's gonna punish the wicked, 09:42.580 --> 09:43.480 they're all getting smoked. 09:43.880 --> 09:45.240 And it's like, in the end, 09:45.780 I've not spoken to them yet they prophesied, 10:27.560 --> 10:30.000 but if they had stood in my counsel 10:30.480 --> 10:33.240 and it caused my people to hear my words, 10:33.240 --> 10:34.940 then they should have turned them 10:34.940 --> 10:35.900 from their evil way 10:35.900 --> 10:38.540 and from the evil of their doings. 10:38.560 --> 10:40.000 Now go if you were to Romans chapter 13. 10:40.220 --> 10:43.020 So we notice so far you got people doing 10:43.020 --> 10:44.500 what's right in their own eyes. 10:44.960 --> 10:47.380 Every idiot thinks that their way is right. 10:47.500 --> 10:50.120 The Bible says everybody in general 10:50.120 --> 10:51.360 thinks that their way is right. 10:51.720 --> 10:53.600 We saw in the book of Judges 10:53.600 --> 10:56.400 the horrible spiritual atrocities 10:56.400 --> 10:58.760 and the physical atrocities that take place 10:58.760 --> 11:02.040 when people just make their own conscience 11:02.040 --> 11:04.600 or their own heart or their own opinions, 11:05.140 --> 11:06.940 the guideline instead of, 11:06.940 --> 11:08.080 thus sayeth the Lord, 11:08.460 --> 11:10.440 engraven in stone, black and white, 11:10.640 --> 11:11.340 thus sayeth the Lord. 11:11.720 --> 11:12.560 That's the problem. 11:14.420 --> 11:15.980 And we see that the counsel of the Lord 11:15.980 --> 11:17.520 stands forever, every generation. 11:17.920 --> 11:18.680 It doesn't change. 11:20.160 --> 11:22.400 Somebody could listen to a recording of this sermon 11:22.400 --> 11:24.960 500 years from now and it's still gonna make sense. remember the law really is in two sections, 11:51.340 --> 11:53.580 loving God and loving your neighbor. 11:54.360 --> 11:55.740 And we talked about how in Judges 11:55.740 --> 11:57.420 they failed on both accounts 11:57.940 --> 11:59.500 from doing what's right in their own eyes. 11:59.500 --> 12:02.160 But look at Romans 13, verse eight, 12:02.280 --> 12:03.620 it says, oh no man anything, 12:04.260 --> 12:05.400 but to love one another, 12:06.060 --> 12:08.600 for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. 12:09.320 --> 12:10.920 And of course, Brother Sigoura 12:10.920 --> 12:12.020 preached a great sermon this morning 12:12.540 --> 12:14.420 about charity and about the importance 12:14.420 --> 12:15.140 of loving one another. 12:15.380 --> 12:16.780 But here's the thing about loving one another 12:16.780 --> 12:19.080 is that the Bible says let's not love in word, 12:19.540 --> 12:22.660 neither in tongue, but in deed and in truth. 12:22.840 --> 12:24.560 Love is shown by our actions. 12:25.540 --> 12:27.700 And so if you're loving your neighbor, 12:27.880 --> 12:28.700 you know what you're not gonna do? 12:29.130 --> 12:30.180 You're not gonna commit adultery. 12:30.500 --> 12:31.500 What does the Bible say? 12:31.980 --> 12:33.560 That shall not commit adultery, verse nine, 12:33.960 --> 12:36.100 that shall not kill, that shall not steal. 12:36.280 --> 12:37.240 Oh, and by the way, if you have one 12:37.240 --> 12:39.020 of these stupid worthless modern versions 12:39.020 --> 12:40.480 like the NIV or the ESV, 12:40.820 --> 12:42.660 it'll leave out that shall not bear false witness. 12:43.600 --> 12:44.400 Isn't that funny? 12:45.320 --> 12:46.380 That shall bear false witness. 12:46.560 --> 12:49.000 A book of lies leaves out the commandment, 12:49.320 --> 12:51.140 that shall not bear false witness in Romans 13. 12:52.440 --> 12:53.860 That shall not bear false witness, 12:54.320 --> 12:55.080 that shall not covet. 12:55.260 --> 12:56.660 And if there be any other commandment, right? 12:56.660 --> 12:58.520 Because the Ten Commandments 12:58.520 --> 13:02.220 is like a Cliff's Notes version of God's moral law. may be stopped 49:11.300 --> 49:14.600 and all the world may become guilty before God, 49:15.040 --> 49:16.240 therefore by the deeds of the law 49:16.240 --> 49:18.440 there should no flesh be justified in his sight, 49:18.540 --> 49:20.560 for by the law is the knowledge of sin, you know? 49:20.900 --> 49:22.500 The law tells us what sin is. 49:22.500 --> 49:24.440 That's why it can't save us. 49:24.660 --> 49:26.480 All it does is just, you know, condemn us. 49:27.000 --> 49:28.560 And that's why we need Jesus to save us, 49:28.560 --> 49:29.980 which is why a couple of verses later, Holy Spirit didn't speak to me about that. 49:45.820 --> 49:46.460 It's like, well, no, no, no. 49:46.740 --> 49:49.120 If you stole and the Bible said thou should not steal, 49:49.520 --> 49:51.640 it doesn't matter whether you got a special telegram 49:51.640 --> 49:52.800 from the Holy Spirit about that, 49:53.100 --> 49:55.260 like you got the Bible and that should be enough, 49:55.560 --> offend in one point, he's guilty of all. 50:06.700 --> 50:08.260 For he that said, do not commit adultery, 50:08.460 --> 50:09.500 said also, do not kill. 50:09.980 --> 50:12.640 Now if thou commit no
